It was my birthday today and I just arrived at my party. Betty opened the door and greeted me with a kiss on the cheek. "Happy birthday jug!" She said with a beeming smile on her face. "Thanks Betts" I said to her. I gave her a quick kiss on the lips and head over to greet Archie and Veronica.
Archie gives me a big hug and pats my back and said "Happy birthday" I was pretty miserable because everyone kept repeating the same word, 'Happy.' I kept thinking of Betty and her pain, and my pain. It hurt my heart to know how Betty felt. She looked happy though and that made me happy I put a smile and my face and responded to Archie by saying "Thanks bud."
Then I move onto Veronica and she pulls me into a friendly hug. "Happy birthday" she says cheerfully. "Thanks V, thanks everyone for having a nice little party for me." I say to everyone. "No problem Juggie. We're all happy to do it for you." Betty said to me.
The little gathering continued with casual conversation. Betty made me a cake and we all sang happy birthday to me. As expected, we all at burgers and had a pretty good time. That is until the door bell rang.
"Who else did you invite." I said sternly. "No one! I promise" Archie responded. Betty slowly walked to the door and opened it. "Cheryl?... Chuck...." I heard her say with a hint of disgust in her voice. At least 30 people strolled into the house and backyard. I tried to find Betty to leave and go to Pops but I couldn't find her in the midst of the crowd. I decided I would just hide in the garage and be anitsocial and text Betty to find me. This was actually a fun night until it turned into a disaster.
