Chapter 1: Shark Attack!-Part 1

A few days later, Marie settled in to an apartment in Pacific Bay with a seaside view. As soon as she arrived there, she applied Oliver to a daycare that the police department provides for. Scott applied to a special police training academy that will help him get more knowledge and muscle for future police work. She even hired a tutor for Julian and got him some textbooks so he can gain some future knowledge for the next coming days. She even got a few sources to deliver her motorcycle across the country so she can drive it to the station.

The three of them even got a German Shepherd puppy and named him Max in case Buck reached his limit. As Marie was getting ready, she looked in the mirror and she smiled to herself when she saw her new look and thought, okay. Let's do this! As soon as she exited her bedroom, she said goodbye to Julian who was watching his favorite cartoon before the tutor came and Max flipped and yipped at her before he started to climb all over Buck who was sleeping and then he began to play with Nico, who played along with him too.

Soon, Marie hopped on her motorcycle and zoomed off towards Pacific Bay's station for her first day of work. After she arrived at the station, the first person she met with was Andrea Marquez, the chief of police. Chief Marquez smiled at her, shook her hand and said, "Mis Marie Holmes, it's so good to finally meet you! As you already know, I'm the chief of police here."

Marie nodded and said, "It's a pleasure ma'am. May I ask who my partner will be here?"

"Well that's a special treat I'm gonna tell you. You're not gonna have not just one, but two partners. One of them will Amy Young a Junior Officer and Frank Knight one of our detectives, but for the moment he's taking some anger management classes. If you read it in the brochure, we have many districts around here. The district's around here are Ocean Shore, Bayou Bleu, Inner City, Jazz Town, White Peaks, Ivywood Hills, Rhine Canyon, Innovation Valley, Paradise City and finally The Wastes in the far outskirts of the city," Chief Marquez explained.

Curious, Marie asked, "Why are they so far out?"

"There have been rumors of a lot of radioactivity in those parts so it's been condone off to the public so they won't enter and get radiation sickness," Chief Marquez said and Marie nodded in agreement.

Just then, the chief's phone rang and when she answered it, she nodded, said thank you to the person on the other end and she hung up. Marie tilted her head and asked, "Is there a problem ma'am?"

Chief Marquez nodded and said, "Damn right there's a problem. There's been a shark attack at Sunny Beach! I need you to go to the beach right now and take Amy with you!"

Suddenly, the door burst open and Marie saw a girl with blond hair tied up in a ponytail come in out of breath. The girl saluted and said, "Junior Officer Amy Young reporting for duty ma'am!"

Chief Marquez crossed her arms and said, "Amy, you're assigned to go to Sunny Beach to investigate a shark attack! This young woman here is Marie Holmes and you'll be her partner on this case as well as other cases!"

When Amy saw Marie, her eyes went wide and she grabbed her hands and said in a happy voice, "It's so good to finally meet you Marie! My uncle told me so much about you! I hope we can be best friends during your stay here!"
