AN: Sorry it's taking so long to update this story. I've been busy thinking of new stories and slowly progressing my other stories. Anyway, here's the next case to my Criminal Case fanfic series so I hope you enjoy it.😊
A couple days after Marie arrested Juan Rodrigo's killer and she got a tour of the Love Village from Amy's brother Duncan, she became a bit curious about White Peaks' Night Walker. For the last two days, she spent some time looking up creatures that might have some similarities like the Night Walker that can roam at night or handle the snow and cold. One creature that Marie knew that can handle the cold and come out at night is the infamous Bigfoot. Marie knew that Bigfoot might be the mysterious Night Walker because it's thick furry coat protects it from the cold.
Marie then used her police skills from Grimsborough and when she got to Pacific Bay to find attributes for the Night Walker and other creatures. So far, Marie knew the Night Walker got its name because it probably comes out at night, it lives in White Peaks and it's involved in the disappearance in three women. Besides Bigfoot, Marie also thought that werewolves might be the culprit and even vampires. However, none of them seem to add up because no one even knows what or who the Night Walker really is.
It started to become so exhausting for Marie that she plopped down on her bed and fell asleep from exhaustion. Seeing how hard she was working, Scott covered her up with a blanket, petted her head gently and said quietly, "Sleep well sis."
The next morning, Marie woke up to the winter sunbeams shining on her face. She sat up in her bed and yawned while stretching. She looked at her notes and all her research around her and then she saw that she was wearing the same clothes she slept in and they were wrinkled a bit. Marie also noticed she looked a bit disheveled and she decided to take quick shower before going to meet the team. When she showered and put on fresh clothes, Marie was ready for the day.
As soon as she went down, she saw Chief Marquez sitting in the lobby sipping some coffee and Marie smiled at her and said, "Morning chief."
Chief Marquez smiled at her and said, "Morning Marie! How are you enjoying your stay in White Peaks so far?"
Marie sat on the couch across from her with a cup of coffee of her own and said, "Other than solving two murder cases, it's going pretty good. And Amy's ex boyfriend and older brother are really nice."
Chief Marquez then asked, "How are you enjoying your room at this hotel?"
"It's very comfortable and it gets super quiet at night. If there really is a Night Walker, I would hate to see it come out of the woods," Marie said.
Chief Marquez let out a laugh and said, "I'm just loving this clean mountain air and the smell of those Douglas firs. I even saw a snowshoe hare hopping by my window."
Marie smiled and said, "I can't believe you spotted one. They're so white that you can't see them because they blend in with the snow!"
It was then that Frank joined up with them and he said, "I don't know what you ladies are so excited about. There's way too much nature around here to suit me."
Marie and the chief giggled, looked at Frank with a smirk and Chief Marquez said, "That's so you Frank because you're pining for the car exhaust and noise."
"A real city slicker," Marie added in and the two women high fived each other.
Frank then said, "Hey, I do like something from this podunk town; the pie! Last night, I ordered seven slices from room service!"
Marie chuckled and said, "Eat that much sugar Frank and you'll get diabetes before you hit seventy."
Frank let out a sheepish chuckle after she said that. He then said, "Still though, I can't seem to find a decent bar around here. You would come here and think White Peaks was a dry district."
