Chapter 26: Hearts of Ice-Part 3

While Marie was reviewing the case to Chief Marquez, Amy called the chief's phone and in a feared tone, Amy told her and Marie that she was in the candy shop following a lead but she was also afraid of someone who was stalking her. It was then that Amy screamed for help when she heard her stalker coming to her and then she hung up. Chief Marquez then asked desperately, "Amy? What's going on?! Amy?!"

Marie who was listening to everything asked, "What the hell was that all about?"

Chief Marquez looked at her and said, "I don't know Marie. But we need to race to the candy shop and get Amy out of harm's way!" And the two women raced out of the station to the candy shop to help their friend.

At the candy shop, Marie and Chief Marquez burst in and Marie called out, "Amy! Where are you?! Answer me!"

It was then that the chief saw her hiding behind one of the shelves and she called over to Marie, "I found her! She's right here!"

Marie joined up with the chief and she looked at Amy who was shaking and she asked, "Are you okay Amy?"

Amy saw Marie and she jumped out from her hiding place and hugged her tightly and began crying hysterically. Marie petted the back of Amy's hair and shushed her, telling her it was all right. Amy then pulled back and said while wiping her eyes, "I'm so relieved to see you Marie. I thought I was going to die!"

"Amy, tell is what happened," Chief Marquez asked.

Amy nodded and told them as tears started to form in her eyes, "It was Roberto Vasquez. He tried to kiss me!"

Angered by what she heard, Chief Marquez exclaimed, "WHAT?! We thought you were in danger Amy! You can't just go and use police resources for your heart problems! What if next tine you're in REAL danger?!"

Embarrassed, Amy said, "I know that! But Roberto wouldn't let me leave! Now that his brother is dead, he's become overconfident and he's like a completely different man!"

It was then that Roberto approached them and Amy hid behind Marie and the chief in fear when she saw him. When the man saw Amy, he smiled pervertedly and said, "Hey there Amy. I see you've brought a few lady friends of yours, so the more the merrier, huh? But if we want to get to know each other better, we should be better off alone."

Roberto also looked at Marie with the same look and he asked, "You don't mind, do you Miss Marie?"

Marie glared at him and exclaimed, "Don't talk to me like that you overstuffed gummy bear! I suggest you stay put buster because once I'm done combing around the shop, I'm gonna have a serious talk with you and why you're stalking my partner!"

After she said that and Marie told Chief Marquez to head back to the station, Marie, with Amy holding onto her closely, began to search the candy shop before she talked to Roberto Vasquez. Soon, Marie found a torn piece of paper that doesn't look like a discarded candy wrapper. She also found a document with a note that said, 'Look what you did to me!' Looking closer at it, Marie saw that it was a medical document but the image on it was faded.

Before she could look at the clues, the first thing Marie did was confront Roberto Vasquez. When she got in front of him, Marie exclaimed to the man, "Are you crazy Mr. Vasquez?! You kept Amy against her will! You can't just go and force a woman to be with you if she doesn't want to!"

Roberto smirked and said, "It's because she hasn't seen what a great kisser I am yet Miss Marie." And he spritzed sine breath spray in his mouth so Amy's kiss with him will be exquisite.

Not wanting to take it anymore, Amy exclaimed at him, "Stop it now! What's gotten into you?! It's like you're a completely different man now!"

Roberto smiled confidently and said, "Ever since my brother passed away, I feel free! There's no one to berate me for eating Mon Petit Chocolat treats and no one's going to tell me I'm a fat blob! Don't you get it? I'm finally happy! Now that he's gone, I'm more confident and I can date any girl I like! And I'm gonna start with you Amy! So how about we go up to my brother's love shack a sip a bottle of champagne together?"
