While Frank and Marie were recapping what they know so far about the case and how the only good thing learned so far about the victim was his prosperous moonshine selling business and how everyone in the bayou drinks it; except for Frank cause he likes a different kind of whiskey. It was then that they heard the sound of gunshots nearby and the two officers took out their guns and ran in the direction of where they were being fired. As they were getting closer, Marie remembered that the gunshots were coming from the boat and when she told Frank, he wondered if Vanessa was causing trouble again.
The two officers soon picked up the pace and while Frank was thinking that they don't want to miss out on the action, Marie was worried someone would get hurt. On Sammy's boat, Marie and Frank saw that it was a standoff between Joe Littlehat and Padre Rafael. When Joe saw them while pointing his rifle at the priest, he said, "Miss Marie, tell that stubborn old priest to put his gun down!"
Padre Rafael then said while pointing his gun at the hunter, "No Miss Marie, you tell that filthy alligator thief to put his gun down!"
Frank then shouted among them while he and Marie were hold their guns to them, "Both of you shut up! One more word out of you and we'll have you..."
Marie then interrupted Frank and said, "Hold on Frank! The both of you can tell us one thing! What is this whole mess about?!"
Padre Rafael began to explain first and he said in anger, "It was Joe who pulled his gun first! Miss Marie, he's the one who started it cause he..."
Before Joe could retort back, Marie shouted out, "ENOUGH!! My partner and I will search this boat until the two of you get a grip on yourselves! And until we're done, not one. More. Word!" And that all three men standing there staring in shock and disbelief and Frank thought, even when she's angry she looks sexy!
Once everything quieted down, Marie and Frank got to work exploring the boat again to see why Joe and Padre Rafael were fighting to begin with. It was then that Marie found a torn piece of paper on the deck and thought that maybe it was the reason Joe and Padre Rafael were fighting, but Frank didn't think it could be, Marie also found a tray that was loaded with leftover food scraps and Frank thought that it looked so disgusting that it should be chucked in the river.
Frank then walked over to one of the deck chairs on the boat, plopped down in it and said, "Seriously though darlin', if we've got nothing more interesting to do, I'm just gonna take a nap in this chair here. It's been a long day."
Not wanting to hear any more of his laziness, Marie grabbed Frank by the ear and said, "Listen here Frank, I don't want to hear anymore complaints from you! When you're with me, you either get the job done yourself or you work together as a team! Now we're gonna restore this piece of paper and search through that messy tray or so help me I will tell the chief about our joy ride!" And Frank put a look a fear on his face, saluted to Marie and told her that he'll help and he then thought, not only is she sexy when she's angry, but scary too!
The first thing Marie did was put together the torn piece of paper and once it was back together, she and Frank saw that it was a flyer advertising for moonshine. On the flyer it said, 'New! Pacific Moonshine! Only at The Mad Cow!' Frank smiled gleefully after he read it and exclaimed, "Wow! I didn't know Betty Lou sold moonshine too! Maybe we'll finally get to taste it!"
Marie then looked closer to the bottom of the flyer and said, "But look at this threatening message on the bottom Frank. It says, 'I told you I won't tolerate competition! Betty Lou.' It seems that this threat was obviously intended for our victim. Let's go back to the bar and question Betty Lou about it!" And soon the two officers agreed to go back to The Mad Cow to talk to Betty Lou.
