A few days after Marie solved Paula Mahler's murder and the nightmare she had with the Night Walker, she began to have more hot milk every night whenever a nightmare like the previous one came to her; hoping that it'll help her relax a bit, which it did. Marie also began to get books from the library about the civil war and search through microfilms about people who went missing after it was over.
Unfortunately, no results came up so Marie didn't even have a clue if the Night Walker actually was an actual man. Choosing to take a break from the Night Walker for a while, Marie got up one morning, turned on the news and decided to make cup of coffee. It was then that the meteorologist on the tv said there would be a blizzard over the mountains and anyone who lives in the area needs to be careful traveling.
Marie got concerned when she heard there would be a blizzard and she looked it up on the weather map on her phone. To her surprise, the blizzard seemed to be in her area and she thought, I better be careful when I go to work today. Once she wrote a message to Scott and Julian to be careful when traveling, she left her home and headed to the station. Sure enough, just as Marie arrived at the station, it started to snow.
When Marie booted everything up and sat down at her desk, Chief Marquez came by and she said to Marie, "Marie, I need to talk to you. There's a mystery I can't solve."
Marie looked at her and asked curiously, "What is it Andrea?"
Chief Marquez explained with a frown, "Well, two weeks ago an Osprey Airways plane was on its way to the Pacific Bay airport and it disappeared off the radar as it was high up in the mountains. There have been search parties all over the mountains, but we can't find any survivors."
Marie's eyes went wide when she heard that and she said, "I see."
Chief Marquez then smiled at Marie and said to her, "That's why I need your skills Marie. If you can find a needle in a haystack, a 100 ton airplane on a mountainside should be child's play for you!"
Marie nodded and said, "I'm on it ma'am!"
Chief Marquez then frowned sadly and said, "There's one other thing you should know. One of the passengers on the plane was Bobby Prince and I'm sure you already know, he and Amy were very close."
Marie nodded and said, "I remember. Amy told me that she and Bobby were dating back when they were in high school."
Overhearing their conversation, Amy's eyes widened when she heard what happened to Bobby and she said, "What's that about Bobby?! I mean, I knew he was taking a flight, but I haven't heard from him in ages!"
Amy then looked at the chief pleadingly and said, "Andrea, please let me go with Marie to search for the plane! I can't just sit around here worrying about what happened to Bobby!"
Chief Marquez looked Amy, then Marie and she said, "As long as it's okay with Marie."
Marie nodded and said, "I'll be happy to."
Chief Marquez then said, "Good. But please, be careful up there. I don't want to have to send out a search party for you two as well." And once the two female officers saluted, they put on their heaviest and warmest winter gear and headed into the mountain.
Later on the mountainside, Marie and Amy were calling out to Bobby as the wind was blowing the snow around them. Amy stopped, let out a sigh and said, "It's no use! I can't see anything in this blizzard!"
Just then, someone shouted out, 'HELP ME' and that got their attention. Amy looked into the whiteness and said, "Did you hear something Marie?! Who's out there?!"
It was then that they saw a shadow coming closer to them and from the whiteness, the two female officers saw it was Bobby Prince and his hair and beard were covered in ice and his nose was icy blue. When he got closer to them, Bobby then said to Amy while panting, "Honey bear...you found me."
