A week later after Marie rapped things up in Bayou Bleu and put away Erikah Mabayo for not only killing Vanessa Kimmel, but running a brothel and harboring prostitutes. As Marie came into the office and started up her computer, she remembers that today is the day she starts in Inner City. Marie also blushed red as she also remembered her night with Frank after Bayou Bleu was finished. She clutched onto the ring around her neck as images of Frank being gentle with her popped up in her mind.

She also remembered how he kissed her ring and smiled at her as if he understood that the one person who's still in her heart would return to her someday. Marie then got one thought in her head and she said to herself, "I wonder what everyone in Grimsborough is doing now?"

Just then, Chief Marquez called Marie to her office and soon she stood up and headed towards it. Once she was in front of her, along with Amy who was called there earlier, the chief smiled at Marie and said, "Congratulations Marie, you made it this far! Now are you ready to take a trip to Inner City?"

Marie nodded in determination and said, "Yes ma'am!"

Chief Marquez nodded and proceeded to explain, "Good! I'll dispatch you there with Amy cause I want you both to witness the meaning of the "Melting Pot" once you get there."

Amy smiled brightly and said in an excited tone, "I'm so psyched Marie! I get to hang out with you in Inner City! You'll love it there! It's crowdy and colorful and we'll take nice pictures!"

Marie looked at Amy with concern and said, "I know you're excited to go there Amy, but we're not just there t sightsee."

"She's right Amy, Inner City is not just a touristic place. It has always been the beacon of hope for many immigrants throughout the world; Russians, Chinese, Indians, Arabs, etc. Sadly though, this place is not without it's tension. The Chinese and the Russians have been stuck in a never ending struggle for a while. Which is why I'm sending Hannah with you two. She was born and raised in Inner City, so I think it's safer if she shows you the way," Chief Marquez explained to them.

It was then that Hannah showed up and soon the three women headed to Inner City. Later on in the heart of Inner City, Hannah, Marie and Amy were walking down one of the main streets, when Hannah looked at Marie with a smile and said, "I'm glad I was asked to show you around Inner City Marie. Trust me, this is the most exciting part of Pacific Bay! Some would call it a melting pot, but there's actually more to it. Inner City is like a tremendous sentient kettle and a boiling laboratory of ideas for the future of Pacific Bay! Of course, it wasn't easy every day living in these parts. But mostly I have good memories from around here."

Marie smiled and said to Hannah, "My great grandmother immigrated from England when she was around 22. Unfortunately, she died when my nana was young so I don't know much about her. But I do know some bits and pieces from her past. I hope someday, I would learn more about her life."

It was then that something on one of the street banners caught Marie's eye and it made her stop walking. Hannah and Amy stopped too to see what Marie was looking at. When Hannah saw that it was a dead body, she covered her hand over her mouth and said as she looked like she was about to puke, "I think I'm gonna be sick!"

Marie then looked at Amy with determination and said, "Amy, go and close off the perimeter! Tell the people that this part of the street is closed until we cleaned this up!"
