-Chapter Two-

JB's POV

As soon as I get home, I quickly walk into the living room. The first person I see is my dad stood there looking rather pissed with me.

"Mianhae" I say whilst bowing to him and he hums in response.

"Maybe next time check your phone Jaebum" His voice low, I nod not wanting to say anything. Slowly turning around I spot my mum sat on the sofa with a younger girl next to her.

"Jaebum this is Serenity Moon, she will be living with us"

"Hey I'm JB, well Jaebum but JB sounds better" I smile at her.

"I expect you to look after her like you would a sister" my mum sternly speaks directly to me. This might be difficult because she's British so she speaks English, a language that I find hard to speak myself.

"Mrs Im, can I go and call my friend back in England?" She politely asks.

"Of course" my mum replies with a sweet tone, to which she walks out of the living room and upstairs.

I sit down beside my mum and lean back. "So we basically adopted her?" I ask. Both shake their heads. Well to me it feels like we've just adopted her.

"Serenity is just living with us at the moment, she can decide in the future if she wants to be adopted into the family" my dad answers.

"So remind me why she's here again?"

"Basically when she was only two her mum had Serenity's little brother and she decided to push her to the side and focus on him, when she was five years old she was forced to move into her aunties, over the years her mum has been looking at places to send her and we decided to take her in and give her the life she should have, even though it's in a far away country maybe a fresh start is something that could be good for her" my mum explains to me and I nod.

"So what school is she going to?" I ask. Looking to each other my dad speaks up.

"The one opposite your school" I look to him.

"So I'll be walking her to and from school everyday?" Another question leaves my mouth. All he does is nod.

Goodbye social life.

"Jaebum, you need to look after her"

"I understand that but how will I talk to her, you know my English is terrible and I expect her Korean isn't any good" I add.

"Jackson or Mark can help you or any of the Tuan family" my dad speaks up making me look from mum to him.

I mean my English is good, but I'm not 100% fluent in it, so I can understand what somethings mean.

"Plus we have signed her up for Korean lessons, but she seems like a smart girl so maybe she'll pick up the language quickly" my mum quickly adds.

"Jaebum we just want to make her feel welcomed here, just think it must be scary being dragged half way across the world at such a young age"

"I know I know, don't worry I will treat her like a little sister and be the big protective brother you want me to be" I say what she wants to hear. Don't get me wrong I've always wanted a younger sibling, but one that speaks fluently in another language is going to be difficult.

"Thank you sweetie, it means a lot to both me and your father" I lean over a kiss my mum's for head before standing up.

"Well I'm going to go and see Serenity and try and and build a conversation" I announce to them before leaving the living room.
