"Cause she's so high
High above me
She's so lovely
She's so high
Like Cleopatra, Joan of Arc, or Aphrodite.." ~ Tal Bachman She's so high"Y/N, your going to have to get off the couch some time." Marshall sighed looking at your slumped figure on the couch all curled up in a blanket looking as depressed as he'd ever seen.
"No I don't, let me wallow in my depression until I feel better." You replied sadly.
"Why are you even so depressed, shouldn't you be happy your daughter is getting married in a couple days?" He asked looking at you strangely.
"Of course i'm excited for her, but it's just a painful reminder that my daughter is getting married, has a wonderful job, and is drop dead gorgeous (thanks to me) and I am a middle aged woman who the only thing she has to look forward to is buying ice cream on discount while watching This is Us." You bitterly replied.
"Eh, that's a good show." He admitted.
"Right? Like Jack is goals." You said.
"Well where's Cassidy? Can't you hang out with her?" He said watching your face turn into a even deeper frown.
"I wish, but Cassidy's got a new man and she's trying to take care of her mom who's grieving over her boyfriend's death and I really don't want to add onto her problems with my own." You said.
"Since when? You've been worrying me for the past 33 years." Marshall snorted.
You shot him a nasty glare which he ignored and kept looking at you in a look of annoyance and sarcasm.
"So what are you gonna do?" Marshall asked.
"Sit here and wallow until my daughter calls me for something involving the wedding." You admitted knowing it was a sucky plan, but there was really nothing else left to say.
"I mean at the wedding." He said.
"Oh, well put on a great performance that yells i'm the happiest mom in the world and I totally don't need a man cause i'm a strong woman who loves feminism and believes that a woman don't need a man to be happy." You said.
"Oh your gonna be a little burst of sunshine ain't you?" He said letting more sarcasm spew out of those jaws that never seemed to shut up.
"Look, let's be honest, i'll probably be drunk the whole night while trying to ignore my older sisters qualms about me needing to go out and find a man and blah blah blah, she thinks she know's everything just because her man is like this really rich CEO who fly's all the way to Hawaii when he wants and tan and fly's to France when he wants dessert." You fumed.
"Well if your so worried about not having a date to your daughter's wedding, why don't we just go together, i'm already going so why not?" He offered.
"Marshall you don't have to do that, I am so used to going to things by myself anyways plus like I said I probably won't be the funnest date you've had.."
"Please, i've dated some real crazy chicks, you'd be normal compared." He assured.
"Fine, but don't get your hopes up for anything above casual talking and maybe a dance." You warned.
"No problem, i'm not much of a dancer you know."
"Yeah..I remember when you took Kim to homecoming and stepped on her feet every 2 minutes." You laughed.
"Hey I warned her I couldn't slow dance well." He chuckled a bit.
"Yup, and then the next day I spent all night teaching you to dance before for the fall dance." You reminisced.
