You sat on the patio chair outside sipping some tea you had made for this morning, it was pretty quiet outside it seemed as if the earth was still sleeping while you were wide awake.
You heard the sliding door open behind you, but you didn't move instead you continued to sip your Chamomile tea that warmed you from the chilly fall weather.
"It's early." He said quietly sitting down next to you.
"Mhm." You muttered cupping the warm tea cup between your hands in an effort to warm them.
"Nathan and Jessica are still sleep on the couch, Hailie and her boyfriend are still crashed in the den, and Denaun is sprawled out in the guest room." He said giving you an update of everyone.
"It was a fun party last night." You smiled taking another sip of tea.
"Yeah." He agreed.
"I totally beat your behind in cards though." You mused, hearing the man mumble a few whatever's.
"You were lucky." He passively said.
"Sure." You agreed.
A few moments of silence passed between the two of you as you both watched the beginning stages of sunrise shine before you in the horizon.
"Nathan and Jessica seem so happy, as well as Hailie and her beau, it's a really beautiful sight to see don't you think?" You asked as you turned to Marshall in question.
"It is." He agreed.
You took a few sips of tea while watching the sunrise draw nearer and nearer, you always loved sunrises it always screamed out a certain hope that you couldn't identify, it was comforting, almost like it was telling you your journey is far from over and you gotta keep going.
"Do you wanna get married some day?" Marshall suddenly asked you catching you slightly off guard.
"I don't know..I think i'll suck at it honestly." You admitted. "But I think I do." You said turning to him your eyes meeting his.
"Looking for anyone special?" He asked.
"They don't have to be superman..heck they don't even have to be a Bruce Wayne..I just want someone I can wake up to every morning and fall in love with everyday." You confessed watching him stare at you with a small smile plastered on his lips. "What about you?" You asked him softly looking back out towards the sunset.
"She doesn't have to be Lois Lane..Or Selina Kyle either...but I think i'm ready to find someone." He confessed. "Just looking at how happy my brother is, it's a motivator for me ya know?" He said.
You nodded, "Yeah I know." You whispered.
You took another sip of tea as the two of you sat in a comfortable silence, finally hearing the birds begin to chirp at the morning's rise.
"We should get married." Marshall said shifting his gaze to you who immediately turned to him with wide eyes.
"What-"
"You aren't looking for Superman and i'm not looking for a Lois Lane, it's simple enough." He reasoned.
"I-i don't think i'll be a good wife.." You frowned.
"Well I already know i'm a bad husband, maybe we can suck together?" He asked curiously.
"I don't think you'll be a bad husband.." You said honestly.
"Why don't you find out?" He asked giving you a smirk.
You were stunned at his boldness as you searched his face for any signs that he was kidding, when you didn't find any you simply laughed.
"Okay."
