Chapter 15 ~ The map

Starlight didn't want to move. She had been awake for a while now but didn't want to disrupt the moment. Trixie and her were still sleeping close to each other. For the time being, Starlight had forgotten about her plan. It didn't matter at the moment.

Eventually, Trixie started to wake up. She yawned and stood up. Starlight did the same. Neither said anything. They just stared at one another, unsure of what to say. Trixie started blushing as she thought about how they had slept. Starlight looked away. She decided to change the subject before things got too awkward. She grabbed the bag.

"I found out how to do this," Starlight said.

"How to time travel," Trixie asked.

"Yes. According to these notes, Princess Twilight-"

"Please don't call her that." Trixie rolled her eyes at the title Twilight had been given.

"Okay. But apparently, she had this magical map. And if I'm right, a few modifications to this spell, plus the power of the map, could make it possible to travel back in time as far as we want." Starlight felt pretty proud of herself for figuring it out. "Thing is, breaking into her castle probably won't be easy."

"Pfff trust me, it wont be guarded. She made the dumb decision of not hiring any guards. Can you believe that?" Trixie laughed.

"Seriously?"

"Yep."

"Well then this should be easy. All I have to do is finish this spell. I'll do that on the way there. We better start walking. Its a long way." Trixie groaned.

The two started their journey. Trixie complained most of the way, causing Starlight to lose her concentration. As they started to approach Ponyville, Starlight finished the spell. Trixie showed her the way to the castle. Starlight couldn't believe Trixie was right about the lack of guards.

The castle was so huge, they kept getting lost. Eventually, they sat down to take a break.

"How long do you think till Twilight returns," Trixie asked.

"She's probably still busy messing up my town." Starlight looked away in annoyance. "Ugh! How big is this stupid castle!?"

"Did you here that," somepony asked. Trixie and Starlight gave each other a worried look. Someone was here. No. Not just one. the pony was clearly talking to someone else.

"Yeah," another pony replied. Starlight and Trixie heard footsteps approaching where they were. The two ran.

"Do you remember where the exit is," Trixie whispered. Starlight shook her head. "Ugh. We need to hide somewhere quick."

The two ran into the first room they saw. Trixie closed the door and put her ear up against it. She heard two ponies run by.

"I heard someone go this way," one of the ponies said. The ponies ran past the room. Trixie sighed.

"I think they're gone," she said.

"And I think I found what were looking for," said Starlight. Trixie turned to see a big table surrounded by some chairs. "This matches the description."

Trixie approached it as Starlight took out to spell.

"So, now what," Trixie asked.

"Now, I try the spell," Starlight said. Her horn started glowing as she attempted it. Trixie watched in silence.

"I think I heard something in here," someone said. Trixie turned to the door.

"Starlight, you might want to hurry," Trixie said.

When she turned back to the map, she saw this big thing at the top over it. The two ponies walked in and stared in shock.

"W-what the-," a yellow pegasus said.

"Trix," Starlight yelled. Trixie ran to her. Starlight levitated the both of them towards the thing above the map.

"Hey," a blue pegasus yelled, trying to stop them. But it was too late. They went through it and disappeared.
