Own Clans

When creating your own Clans, it takes some thoughts. Usually, they are just echoes of the original Clans (Water/Sea/OceanClan for RiverClan, Lighting/Forest/TreeClan for ThunderClan, Black/DarkClan for ShadowClan, and Swift/FastClan for WindClan) but sometimes they are pretty creative. Some go too far though.

Cats in big groups that have more order than people? Yeah, it's clearly fiction and probably (probably) not real, but let's not go over the top. I haven't seen them personally—I've heard/read a few different talking/writing about them—but there are some fanfictions that have flying cats (Even Hollyleaf {I really don't personally like her} talks about this) and cats living under water. Those go a little too far.

Let's look at my Clans for examples of better versions (I'm not saying mine are the best, I just think they are a little different than the original Clans. At least a few of them)

EchoClan has parts of ThunderClan, WindClan, ShadowClan, and SkyClan in it. Let me break it down.

ThunderClan because of their love of the thick, dense forest.

WindClan because they have a moorland and some moor runners

ShadowClan because they have the bulky bodies and stalking abilities of what ShadowClan cats are said to have.

SkyClan because they climb trees and enjoy the open air in the camp, high above the ground

SageClan is basically just WindClan

CrowClan has ThunderClan, RiverClan, and WindClan

ThunderClan because of their bulky builds and forest

RiverClan because they enjoy water more than other cats, and sometimes swim

WindClan because they have a moorland which they hunt on

BatClan has ShadowClan...slightly

ShadowClan because they have a similar territory

I have parts of the old Clans in them, but they are also themselves. Make them your own, but keep them close to the originals to give credit to the Erin Hunter team. Also, remember if you have different Clans, you could change a few of the rules in the warrior code, medicine cat code, and ceremonies.

Such as my medicine cats in my stories can have kits if:

A she-cat medicine cat has a fully trained apprentice or a tom medicine cat has a half-trained apprentice. If the mentor is alive but does not have or plan to have kits, a younger fully-trained medicine cat may have kits without an apprentice.
