Chapter 4 - Don't leave me again

(Y/N) POV:

Darkness, that's all I could see. Where am I? I thought to myself and looked around me in this black, empty void I was in the middle of.

"Hello!? Is anyone here!??" I yell at the top of my lungs to the darkness. No answer. What did you expect (Y/N)? Of course no ones there. I'm probably in hell or something, it wouldn't surprise me... I deserve it for being such a bad daughter, for still living, for being the worst friend ever and make people kill themselves because of how much they hate me. That's right (Y/N)... You killed him when he probably needed you the most.

Hell, I could see just how much he was hurting inside, but he kept saying that nothing was wrong and I could clearly see he lied... God Kaneki, you know I know you better than that... He stopped eating and he slowly began to avoid me too. The only logical explanation was that he hated me, like everyone else. Then he got killed... I looked down at my feet. I don't deserve to live... And there's no reason for me to do so when he's not around...

Something suddenly lighted up in the distance, catching my attention. "Hello!!?" I yelled hoping it was someone who could help me get out of here. I ran towards the light as fast as I could. "Hey! Help me get out of here!" I called out as I got closer to light, then suddenly I heard a fragile voice coming from behind me.

"(Y/N)....." It called out. It sounded like it was in pain. I looked back over my shoulder, slowing down to a slow walking speed. My eyes widen and tears started forming in the corners of my eyes. There he stood in the dark void behind me reaching out for me.

"K-Kaneki..?" I whispered, mostly to myself and stopped completely. I must be dreaming... It couldn't be! He... I... "But you're..." My voice dried out as I tried to speak to him. He had a longing look in his eyes and slowly took a step in my direction.

"... Dead?" He ended my sentence for me when I wasn't able to. I nodded my head slowly as my tears once again started rolling down my cheeks. "(Y/N)... I'm right here..." He spoke very carefully as if pursuing a scared animal. I quickly turned towards him and began running in his direction. He opened his arms wide to me, ready to embrace me, his black hair swaying lightly. I abruptly stopped in my tracks a few feet in front of him. Wait, black hair? Didn't Kaneki have white hair last time I saw him..? I asked myself and looked skeptically at him.

"Who are you?" I asked and looked him up and down. He looked at me in confusion, keeping his arm out for me but I didn't take another step. 'Kaneki' then smiled an innocent smile at took a step in my direction.

"What are you talking about... (Y/N)..?" He said and took another step as I began backing away, he looked at me, disappointment filling his eyes. Why did he speak slower every time when he was about to say my name?

"You're not Kaneki.." I stated and stared daggers at him. He stopped moving and let his arms fall down the side of his body. I watched his every movement, that's not Kaneki (Y/N), it's not him. I kept telling myself as his eyes went from disappointed to sorrowful. 'Kaneki' slowly looked down, causing his bangs to cover his eyes. Blood began to drip down from his face. He then spoke softly to me.

"Why... Why did you kill me?" He carefully raised his head and looked me in the eye, blood streaming out of his instead of tears. It felt as though my heart had stopped and I stumbled backward as 'Kaneki' followed me for every step I made. "What did I do to deserve this?" He asked, "Haven't I suffered enough..?" My whole body began to shake and the void around us did as well. What was that? I thought, never taking my eyes off of 'Kaneki'. "(Y/N).." He called my name as he grabbed onto my hand. I was frozen still with fear, still, this scene looked awfully familiar. That's right! Kaneki held onto my hand like this just a moment ago! ... But that means--
