My Precious [Kaneki x Reader]

Chapter 23 - Hide and seek

~ Time skip - 5 years ~ 

(Y/N) POV:

"Mommy! Daddy! Yuki is teasing me again!!" Aku yelled as he came running into the house from the garden with Yuki just behind him. 

"Not true!!!" Yuki yelled as Aku ran to hide behind Kaneki's leg, "you're just a crybaby!" she shouted and laughed as she poked Aku's shoulder in a teasing manner. I was just sitting on the couch and looking at them with a troubled smile. Why do they always have to fight like this? I thought and smiled to myself as Kaneki shot me a helpless look and picked Aku up in his arms.

"Yuki..." I sighed and held my hand our for her to come. Their 6 years birthday is approaching and they have been talking a lot about how much they want to go to school in the 1st ward when they turn 6. Yuki came over to me and pouted a bit as she crossed her arms and looked back at Aku. 

"What did you do?" I asked and looked down at her as she slowly looked up at me, removing some of her white hair from her face.

"N-Nothing! Aku just tripped!" Yuki said and held her hands up in defense, trying to prove her innocence. 

"And you just laughed at me!" Aku yelled back from Kaneki's shoulder as Kaneki let him down and kneeled down in front of him. 

"Let me see," Kaneki said as Aku put his hands in Kaneki's. Aku's hands had small scratches all over and so had his knees. "It's just some small scratches Aku, you'll be fine in a couple of minutes." Kaneki said with a smile and ruffled Aku's black hair a bit. 

"... I know..." Aku mumbled and walked over to wash his hands. Both Yuki and Aku were half-ghouls like Kaneki and they had both inherited his healing abilities. Kaneki and I have our suspicions that they don't have kagunes, because we've never seen them, but they do both have a ghoul eye. Aku's ghoul eye is his left, just like Kaneki, and Yuki's her right. They can't quite control their eyes yet, but Kaneki is doing his best to teach them how. 

Kaneki then walked over to me and sat down beside me on the couch, putting his arm around me as Yuki and Aku ran back out into the garden to play. They don't need human flesh to survive, that's what the inherited from me, and we're really happy that they won't need to kill to survive. 

"What are you thinking about?" Kaneki suddenly asked as he looked at the TV in front of us. I looked up at him slightly as I just smiled at him. 

"Yuki and Aku... We're lucky to have them..." I said as a warm feeling spread inside me as I snuggled up to Kaneki. 

"Uh-huh... But they need to stop fighting over small things like that all the time..." Kaneki chuckled a bit as he turned his gaze down at me and smiled. I just laughed a bit as I then sighed softly, looking back at the TV. Our life is actually quite perfect right now, no danger, no Aogiri, no missions and we've got Yuki and Aku. 

"Mommy mommy!! Quick!" Aku suddenly burst back inside while Yuki remains outside. He runs up to me and Kaneki and began to pull on our hands to get us to follow him.

"What is it, sweety?" I asked as I remained calm and stood up, they probably just found another frog or something... I smiled as Kaneki stood up as well as Aku desperately tried to force us with him.

"A stranger suddenly came up to me and sis and sis told me to get you quickly! Come on, come on!" Aku yelled as Kaneki and I shot each an anxious look. Kaneki quickly picked Aku up in his arms as we ran out into the garden in a panic. 

"Stay away! I'm warning you--!" Kaneki and I looked at each other as we quickly picked up our pace at the sound of Yuki's voice. Yuki had her back turned to us as she was shouting at someone, but I couldn't make out who it was.
