My Precious [Kaneki x Reader]

Chapter 20 - The Search

(Y/N) POV:

I had made it back to the 20th ward as I slowly walked down the streets towards my old apartment. I wonder how it's holding up... I look up at the sky as I continued walking. I don't have to keep my guard up here as much as I do in the 11th ward, but I do have a pretty serious wound on my stomach and a little wound on my shoulder. Therefore I am still holding tightly onto my quinque as it's in its case form. 

That's when I noticed it. Or should I say, her? I looked slightly over my shoulder to see a little girl walking behind me. She had been walking there for about 10 minutes now. She had long black hair, was wearing a green jacket and sunglasses. Is she following me? I took a random turn as I normally never do. She turned as well. What does she want? Why is she following me? 

I stopped walking as I turned around and looked at her. 'Everyone can be ghouls, you never know until they attack you...' Kaneki's words popped into my head as I just kept looking at her, she had now stopped as well as she just looked back at me. She can't possibly be a ghoul too..? I felt my stomach hurt as I moved my arm to the side and saw that my clothes were soaked again. Damnit! I'm in no shape to fight! I looked back up at the girl as she had taken her sunglasses off, revealing her face completely. 

"Oh my gosh, you're hurt!" She said as she quickly walked up to me and looked at my stomach. I just observed her really carefully as she lifted up on my shirt slightly and looked at my wound. Her eyes went wide as she looked back up at me, "what happened?!" She asked with concern.

"I... Got into a fight..." was all I said as she looked into my eyes. She then gave a small nod and a kind smile as she took my hand.

"I'm Hinami, nice to meet you! My guess would be that you're (Y/N), right?" She asked kindly as I widened my eyes in surprise and just stared at Hinami. 

"Umm, yes that's me..?" I questioned and waited for her to reply.

"Then you're a friend of the family! Oh! And that means I have to help you!" Hinami said as she began dragging me with her.

"B-But..?!" I began as I stumbled after her, she was surprisingly strong.

"Don't worry! He'll know where to find you..!" Hinami said with a sad smile as she kept holding my hand. I just looked down at her as she quickly put on her sunglasses again before re-entering the streets. 

~ Time skip to Anteiku ~ 

We arrived in front of the little coffee shop Anteiku. That's where Kaneki used to work... I looked at the building as Hinami then dragged me after her up the stairs. We then entered as a girl with purple hair looked at Hinami. When she saw me her eyes went wide and she almost dropped the coffee she was preparing. 

"Touka..!? She needs help, she's hurt..." Hinami said in a pleading manner and looked straight at Touka. Touka widened her eyes slightly when she saw me as she put the cup down and walked up to me. Touka then widened her eyes a bit again as she got close to me and looked down at Hinami. 

"Let's get her upstairs..." Touka mumbled as she turned to call out to one of the other employees, "Ey! Nishiki! Take over for a couple of minutes!".

"Whhaaaatt!!? I can't take care of all of this on m--!?" Suddenly Nishiki came around the corner with a very displeased look on his face. I widened my eyes as we just looked at each other, Nishiki... His the one who told Kaneki to leave and fought him back in my old apartment... I then quickly looked down at the floor as his softened his expression, "No way, I'm coming too. Irimi!" Nishiki shouted as a girl with long brown hair looked at him from one of the customers' tables.
