Chapter 27 - War

Ayato's POV:

I can't believe I actually did it, after all this time. I accepted them a long time ago, and I wasn't thinking about (Y/N) like that anymore. But she just looked so worried and she seems to have a lot going on in her head right now... It was just supposed to be a hug, but the feeling of her against me. The pleasant, well-known warmth and sent of her that close to me... I couldn't stop it! 

I sighed to myself as I gazed out of the window, into the garden. Wait a moment... Everything was completely white with a crystal blue sky. I widened my eyes and stared at the scenery before me. 

"AKU! LOOK!! IT'S SNOWING!!!" A tiny girl voice screamed upstairs as I immediately heard small, yet fast, footsteps running down the stairs. A short moment later Yuki sprinted through the hallway in her nightgown and leaped outside in the snow. A couple of seconds later Aku stormed into the living room and right over to me, starting to pull on my hand.

"Uncle Ayato! Please come with us outside!" Aku pleaded and looked at me with puppy-eyes. Uncle?!? When the hell did I become their uncle!?! I got up from the couch and let Aku drag me outside. 

"Okay okay! I'm coming! Geez..!?" I had to squint my eyes together thanks to the brightness of the sun, shining down on the snow, blinding me. I then felt something cold and hard against my face as it knocked me over so I landed in the snow. 

"Ahahahah!" I heard two small child voices laugh a few meters away as I slowly sat up and removed the snow from my face. I then looked at them with the most dangerous look I could muster as my lips carved up into a smirk. 

"Ohh... Who threw that..?" I asked as I took up some snow and formed it into a snowball. Yuki and Aku immediately stood up straight and pointed at each other. 

"Him/Her!!" They shouted in unison as Yuki began to laugh and hide behind Aku. So it was you... I immediately threw the snowball at her, hitting her shoulder. 

"HA!" Aku triumphed and made his way through the snow towards Yuki. As soon as he got near her she immediately jumped up on his shoulders, knocking him to the ground. "Ah! Y-Yuki! It's cold!" Aku squealed and tried to climb away from her, with no use. 

"What's going on out here?" (Y/N) asked as she and Kaneki exited the house, staring at us. I turned and looked at them with an innocent smile.

"Nothing at all~" I said and observed Kaneki discretely. He seems to be in a good mood, so... She didn't tell about the kiss?! 

"M-Mommy heeelp meee!!" Aku pleaded (Y/N) and struggled a bit. (Y/N) and Kaneki just laughed a bit among themselves.

"I think that job suits your father better..." (Y/N) said with a teasing tone as she pushed Kaneki further outside. 

"Hey! Not without you!" He said and pulled (Y/N) with him by her arm as she tumbled after him. Kaneki then ran past me to help Aku as I just turned and looked at them. Kaneki took hold of Yuki and lifted her up in the air but she had clung herself to Aku and thereby bringing him with her. 

"AAHHH!!!" Aku panicked a bit and held onto Yuki as Kaneki just stood there and looked at them with a 'The fuck are doing?' look. He then looked back at me and signaled for me to come help. I walked over to them and put my hands out for Aku to crab as Aku looked at me like I was his savior or something. Aku then lets go of Yuki, jumping into my arms and then almost like an animal, climbing over on my back while glaring at Yuki.

"Daddy you're a traitor!" Aku said with a deceived tone as Kaneki just looked at him dumbfounded and so did I. But, didn't he just help you?! I thought as I then heard (Y/N) laugh from behind me. Kaneki and I just looked at her in confusion as Aku leaped from my arms to hers.
