~ 1 week later ~

(Y/N) POV:

"Mommy pleeeeeaaasseee!!" Aku and Yuki pleaded as they laid on the floor and hit it with their hands and feet. I sighed and shook my head for the 483rd time today trying to concentrate on reading the book I was holding in front of me.

"No! I told a million times!" I said, starting to get seriously irritated on them. Aku then immediately jumped up from the floor and crawled onto my lap, making me put the book away. I looked at him as he had a sad expression on his face, meanwhile, Yuki continued to hit the floor hysterically.

"But why not?!" Aku asked and looked me in the eyes as I just looked back at him.

"Because--"

"Because it's dangerous for ghouls to attend a human school, you two know that. I've told you many times before." Kaneki suddenly walked into the living room as he looked at us all and I heaved a sigh of relief. Took you long enough jackass... I looked at him with a small smile as Yuki got up from the floor and ran over to Kaneki, grabbing onto his leg.

"But we wanna go to school!!" Yuki said and looked up at Kaneki with desperate eyes. Kaneki just shook his head 'no' and looked down at Yuki. Aku then fled from my lap to take Kaneki's other leg as they were both clinging to him now. I'm free..! Don't misunderstand me, I love them! But... They sure can be a handful sometimes... I watched as Kaneki, Yuki and Aku began to argue as I just looked at them, not saying a word.

They're turning 6 tomorrow, and that means they'll be old enough to start in school. They really want to, but there's a 'little' problem with that. They're half ghouls, they have the eyes and we know for sure that Yuki has a kagune and that means that Aku probably also has one. Their eyes can still turn, without them noticing, when they get angry or sad and if that were to happen they would be handed over to the CCG right away. Sure, they eat human food and haven't even tried to eat anything from a human, so that wouldn't be a problem, but the risk of them getting figured out is just too big.

Kaneki were still arguing with them as his expression turned more and more serious for each minute that passed. I blinked my eyes a couple of times, returning to the situation at hand.

"B-But we promise to be nice!" Aku said and looked up at Kaneki with teary eyes as Yuki was more angry than sad and her right eye was beginning to turn black and red.

"I wanna go to school! I'll behave and I promise to keep our identities hidden from everyone! No one will ever even know!! Please daddy!!" She yelled with an angry expression as Kaneki looked over at me for guidance.

"Yuki, settle down. Your eye has turned." I said with a stern voice as I stood up from the couch and walked over to all of them. Yuki frowned and covered her right eye with her hand, looking down at the floor with her left. "Okay, listen. Daddy and I will talk about all this later, for now, you two need to calm down and come help me make dinner. Deal?" I said still with a stern voice as both of their faces lighted up as they released Kaneki and jumped up and down in excitement before running out of the living room, into the kitchen.

"... You're actually thinking about letting them go to school?" Kaneki said and looked at me with a worried, confused look on his face. I just shrugged before sighing again.

"I don't know..." I said and walked up to Kaneki, giving his cheek a light kiss before heading into the kitchen before Yuki and Aku could destroy the place.

~ The next morning ~

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you~ Happy birthday Yuki and Aku! Happy birthday to you~!!" Kaneki and I entered Yuki and Aku's room with a birthday cake with six small candles on it. Yuki and Aku immediately sat up in their beds and smiled all over, squealing in happiness as Yuki quickly crawled onto Aku's bed.
