Chapter 33 - Glass

Kaneki's POV:

My head hurts... I opened my eyes and looked around me as I slowly sat up, rubbing my head. It's dark... And unnaturally quiet... Where am I..? I slowly stood up as I held my hands out in front of me so I wouldn't bump into anything, but there was nothing around me but darkness. 

"Hello..!?" I tried to call out but my voice never came. It was as if the silence swallowed up my voice. I slowly began walking forward as my footsteps didn't make any sound either. Where am I? What the hell's going on with this place..?! 

I then caught glimpse of a small, fragile light in the distance as I stopped in my tracks and looked at it. There was nothing else around me so I just moved towards the light with cautious steps. What is that? 

As I got closer I could start to make out the silhouette of a person standing by the small light, which turned out to be a small flame, as the person was looking at it as well. I slowed down a bit as I tried to see who it was as the person slowly turned around and looked right at me. I immediately stopped walking and widened my eyes as a familiar smile greeted me, accompanied by a waving hand. I could see her lips moving as if she were saying something to me, but yet again sound failed to travel. 

"(Y/N)..!" I said as I felt the relief wash over me and a smile crept onto my lips. Of course, there was still no sound and she didn't seem to hear me as her expression didn't change the slightest. I then began walking through the dark again, trying to get to her, but it was as if I was walking on a treadmill. I walked, but I didn't get anywhere as a feeling of frustration began to fill me. Damn it... 

I then saw (Y/N)'s smile widen a bit as she said something and looked past me. I turned my head slightly to the left as someone walked right past me towards (Y/N). White hair, red stitches, and loose clothing. I glared at his back as I tried to grab him and pull him back, but I was too late as he made his way to (Y/N). 

He then turned his head and looked right into my eyes with his piercing red ones as he walked behind her and hugged her. I picked up my pace as I glared daggers at him and felt my hands shake a bit in anger. 

"Let her go right now you filthy CCG bastard!!" I tried to yell but no one could hear it as none of them moved even an inch. I subconsciously made a low, angry growl as I was almost running towards them. I'm getting nowhere like this! I looked down at my feet as I could see them moving and yet getting nowhere. I then looked up at them again as I saw him smirk widely at me and then kissing her cheek, making sure I saw everything. 

I widen my eyes completely as my left eye turned black and red in an instant. I'll kill you... I immediately forced out my kagune as I used it to sprint towards him as I lounged my kagune out for him repeatedly, but he dodged every attack like it was nothing. I'll fucking kill you! He then managed to land a solid kick in my stomach as it sent me flying backward, even further away than I was before. 

As I tried to stand up I hit my head on something above me. I looked up to see nothing there. I then looked back towards them as he turned around with a careless smile and put his hand around her waist, only pissing me off further, but when I tried to walk towards them this time, I walked right into something that appeared to be glass. The hell..?

I then realized that I was trapped in something like a glass-box that was gradually getting smaller for every second. I was forced to bring in my kagune to give myself more space to break free as I slammed my shoulder into the glass, but it didn't even get a small crack. (Y/N) and the investigator then started to walk in the other direction as he still had his hand around her and was looking back at me, mocking me.
