The other day I mustered the courage.
"Prom?" I said.
You blew me away when you said yes.
Now I just need to find a dress.
But I don't feel half as depressed.
You are my clean slate, my second chance.
Everything with you feels so fresh so new.
So, might I have this dance with you?
I remember my dad saying you cant love someone without having been intimate with them too.
And I thought he was right, until I met you.
We haven't so much as kissed and I don't feel rushed to.
I could wait a million years to say, "I do." But only if it's with you.
If by some chance we hit it off at prom,
Please introduce me to your sisters, and your mom.
I want to know everything about you.
The good, the bad, and the ugly too.
I want to see your scars and know your deepest fears.
I want to know what makes you laugh so hard there's tears.
I will love you from a distance.
In hopes that some day you'll pursue me with persistence.
Maybe I'm naive, and maybe I'm a fool.
But "I donut think prom will be fun without you."
So please forgive my shenanigans and craziness.
But I'm looking forward to prom and a night full of happiness.
