Dazai Osamu hated dogs. He avoided them and tried to hide from them whenever he saw them. He couldn't understand how could people like them? Their faces, the sounds they make, the way they acted - everything seemed to be awfully annoying to him.
He hated them throughout all his life until one day, one of these "monsters" was brought to your shared apartment.
A puppy, the white Samoyed, was lucky enough to be found by you one evening after you were going home from work and after seeing its eyes, filled with pain of betrayal and sadness, your heart melted and you took it with you. (A/N: anyone got the reference~?)
To say, that Dazai wasn't pleased with it was to say nothing. At first, he refused to enter the house because the puppy was staring at him with widened eyes and he promised to not let him stay with you, but after you threatened him with a no-kiss policy and explained, that a puppy, who was thrown out, won't be able to survive outside, Dazai finally gave up and even agreed to name the puppy.
That's how there were now the three of you: Dazai, you and the puppy, Yozo.
Little by little, the puppy proved, that he wasn't as bad as Dazai thought. The puppy was warm and soft to sleep with, he was loyal, he was funny and even managed to make Dazai laugh, when he wanted to play. The puppy also made the two of you go out for a walk regularly, what was good for your health, and most importantly, it made you happy so Dazai stopped minding it all that much and perhaps, even started to like it.
Only if he knew, that the story was going to repeat itself and you were going to find a homeless chow chow puppy.

"They're so cute, when they are asleep~" You said quietly with a soft smile on your lips as you were watching the two of your dogs sleep on your bed
You were panting slightly because you had just finished cleaning the bathroom after washing your new family member, who definitely needed some soap in his fur
"Well...I guess, they are~" Dazai replied
"When will you finally admit, that dogs are cute~?" You smirked "I know, that you used to hate them, but after Yozo stayed with us, I can see how close you two have gotten~"
"We're not close at all~ I just sometimes walk with him in the evenings." He protested
"Oh, are you sure~?" You asked "But yesterday, I came home and saw how peacefully, you were cuddling with him~ And you often play with him~ And you let Yozo lie on your knees, while you're finishing your reports~ Who knows, maybe, our new puppy will find a key to your heart too~?"
"Who knows~ But alright, I'll admit, that Yozo is a special dog~" Dazai said, looking away in defeat "He just makes you happy and if you're happy, then I'm happy too~ So it's possible that our new puppy will be like this too~"
You couldn't help, but laugh softly
"I can't believe, that Dazai Osamu, the man, who always shouted out loud how much he hates dogs, turned out to be one of those people, who say that they don't like animals, but grow fond of them once they get one~"
"Don't tease me, baby girl~" He punched your side playfully "Better tell me, how are we gonna name our new friend~? I chose a name for Yozo so now, it's your turn~"
"I won't~" You promised "And I already have one idea, in fact~ How about Shuji*~?"
"Why not~" Dazai shrugged his shoulders "It's a good name~ By the way, I hope, that one day, we'll have to choose a name for a little human as well~"
"I promise, that this day will come~" You blushed, understanding his hint "One Day~"
Shuji*- the real of Dazai Osamu (the real one, I mean. Not the character), while Dazai was his pseudonym ~~~
