"I can see stars in your eyes."

"Will we stay like this forever?" Dazai asked out of nowhere

You raised an eyebrow in confusion, but didn't look away from the starry sky above the two of you as you continued admiring billions of stars, shining high in the sky.

"What do you mean?" You asked "If you mean staying here on the hill forever, then no."

"No, I meant...will be together forever? Until death tears us apart..." Dazai whispered quietly

Your mouth opened slightly in a silent gasp as you realized what he meant and before replying, you did the most important thing you could in such a moment: you reached over for his hand and intertwined your warm fingers with his cold ones. You spoke only when you felt, how his body relaxed slightly.

"Yes." You replied "Osamu, I promise you this. You know perfectly well, that I love you too much to live without you."

"I know, (Y/N)." He said "You're the only person in this world, whose trust I don't ever have to doubt. But you know...many things could happen."

You squeezed his hand tighter in reply.

"Osamu." You said seriously "I swear to you, that it doesn't matter in what kind of situation will I ever end up, I'll always find a way out of it to come back to you. No matter what it takes, I'll grow old with you."

You rolled on the side, resting your head on his chest as you could now listen to his fast, uneven heartbeat. You wondered if his heart was always beating with such speed or was it only when you were close?

"We will be just like the stars above us." You whispered "We'll stay far away from all other people, watching them go every day to work, play with their kids, born, die, we'll witness the rise and fall of the mighty empires and the pass of the centuries, but we will remain untouched. We'll still be together, hand in hand, heart to heart."

"We won't need anything else, but each other, just like now." Dazai finished your sentence "Friends can come and go, even lovers can break up. Nothing is temporary...except for two souls, that were once one, but were then tore apart. Only soulmates are permanent and you are mine and I'm yours. Even physical needs are nothing for us. What's the importance of water or food, when you don't have a person to share it with? It matters less, than a bit of dust."

You blushed slightly at his words, lifting your head to kiss his cheek gently and for some reason, stars started to shine brighter in Dazai's eyes after your lips came in contact with his skin.

He never believed, that he'd meet someone, who will be able to understand him more, than he understood himself. Perhaps, soulmates weren't just a myth? Or else, what else could explain the bond between you two, which was stronger, than the red string of fate itself as you two were ready to go past the the things, destined for you, to be in each other's arms.

However, there you were. Warm, alive and close. There you were, lying on his chest, listening to his heartbeat, and most importantly, not going away somewhere. Were you his reward for suffering all these years without being given a single minute without bearing the agonizing torture of depression? If so, then, he didn't even mind suffering for you. He wouldn't mind doing anything if it was for your sake for nothing could ever equal how much he treasured you.

He was about to turn his head and look at you, when suddenly you said:

"Don't look away. I can see stars in your eyes."

His lips curved into a soft smile as he remained still so that you could enjoy this moment a little more.

You weren't joking thought. You could truly see the small sparking dots in his brown orbs as they reflected. Stars seemed even more beautiful this way. It felt like all night skies fit into Dazai's small, related to the universe, eyes of a color of the dark bitter chocolate, that he enjoyed eating with a cup or two of sake.

Time didn't exist for you that night. Stars in the skies and in Dazai's eyes remained still just as your adoration and respect for him.

"Do you still think, that there's a chance, that we will ever part?" You asked

"I guess, you know the answer." Dazai chuckled "Now~ How about a gentle kiss to make time stop completely~?"

Sadly, even after you kissed him, time was still moving as the morning came soon and the first rays of sun covered the darkness of the night sky with its gentle colors of yellow, orange and pink.

Only the stars in Dazai's eyes remained still.

It was a pretty random one shot but I loved it XD I was just feeling how my very good friend is slowly moving on and growing up while I'm stuck at school and in this country. I'm not angry at her or smth, moreover, I want her to have new friends, new hobbies and such, but rn, I just needed to write smth about two people, staying together forever because I needed these words rn.

I'd only like to warn you about smth...
Guys, I've had a lot of times when people mentioned me to talk but then, I started getting messages like "I wanna kill myself." or "Depression is killing" out of nowhere and on the second day of talking to that person.

I'm very happy if I can help someone with a mental disorder. But, when I haven't even found out a person's NAME or age and they have already told me about a boyfriend/girlfriend who they trusted and who left them or all the secret things about their family, then I just get scared tbh...>~< I'm not a therapist...I'd like to at least get to know you so that then I'll really be able to help you with words bc when ppl message me such things. I can only say stuff like "it'll be fine", "stay strong" bc what can I possible say to a stranger?

I really don't mind people with mental disorders, but let's not start talking with that ok? Let's get to know each other slowly :)
