Tightrope

This is a small little something for Amane8009 ! I saw in your latest one shot, that you were feeling down a lot lately so I wrote this for you^^ I'm not sure if this can be considered as fluff, but I hope, that you'll like it anyway >~<

"I'm bored." You sighed, sitting next to your boyfriend on the couch and leaning your head on his shoulder

Dazai was just reading his suicide manual as usual, but once he felt your warmth next to him, suddenly, he lost all his interest to his beloved book and closed it, putting it away.

"Oh that's not good~" He chuckled, wrapping his hand around your shoulders and kissing your forehead "My princess shouldn't be bored~"

"I love having days off, but I did all the things I needed to do a little earlier, than I planned." You explained and hugged him back tightly

"I have one idea as to how to change that luckily~" Dazai replied

"Really?" You blinked, being intrigued by his words

"Yes, love~ So say~ How about we play some kind of a game~? We will be able to ask each other any question we want, no matter how intimate is that, and the other one must reply honestly~ We've been together for 6 months already, but I think that we still have a lot to find out about each other~"

"Now, it's getting interesting~" You smirked "I like this idea~ Who starts then~?"

"I'll let my princess start since she's the one being bored~" He said

Your eyes lit up with a mischievous flame as myriads of all the possible questions, that you could ask him, rushed through your mind. Dazai has always been a mysterious man so having him open up to you took you 2 whole months and a lot of time after that to prove that you really meant no harm to him and just loved him truly. So now, it was the perfect opportunity to find out everything that you've been curious about.

"What's your favorite book?" You asked finally "Except for the suicide manual, I mean."

"Hm~" He paused to think "To be honest, it's the Little Prince. I've read it when I was 13 and since then, I love to reread some of the lines."

"Oh really?" You blinked "I didn't expect you to like it."

"Why not~?" He chuckled

"Well, probably, because it's written like a tale." You explained

"It still holds a great meaning in itself~" Dazai replied

This man was impossible to predict.

"Now, it's my turn~" He smirked "(Y/N)~ How do you imagine your dream date~? If we could do anything we want, go wherever we want, what would you like to see~? I'm curious~"

You blushed slightly because of his question, not being able to hide that under the gentle sight of his chocolate orbs, you were also melting just like chocolate. And also, you had to admit, you were truly touched by how he cared about your dreams.

"Stargazing." You replied laconically "I want to go stargazing with you one day, but I doubt, that this will happen any time soon because of such working schedules like ours. But it's still my dream. Driving out of the city and spend the night under the stars and then see the sunrise together~ That's my ideal date~"

"It's a wonderful dream~" He smiled softly, taking your hand in his tenderly and caressing your knuckles with his thumb "I think, that we actually will be able to do it one day~"

"I'd really love that~" You said, before kissing his cheek

"It's your turn again, by the way~" Dazai reminded you

You thought for a while about what your next question was going to be and finally asked:

"What's your favorite song? You always sing the one about the double suicide, but never anything else."

"Promise me not to tease me if I say~?" He asked

You nodded your head in agreement, making a serious facial expression again to assure him in your answer.

Dazai cleared his threat dramatically and you thought, that he was going to joke again or sing it in a goofy way like he did, when Kunikida was around to annoy him, when suddenly...

"Hold on, I know you're scared*~" Dazai sang, closing his eyes to focus "But you're so close to heaven~ Eyes shut tight~ Just pretend you're like a feather~ Flew down the clouds together~ But don't look down, not ever~ Don't ask why~ Just look out unto forever~"

Your jaw dropped as your eyes widened slightly too. You couldn't believe your ears. Were you having hallucinations or was Dazai just really singing with his angelic, velvet voice right in front of you? He always sang so...not well when he was in the ADA so you thought, that it was the only way he knew how to sing. But here he is, the very same Dazai Osamu, singing greatly, only making some slight mistakes, but overall, singing greatly! His low, husky, honey-like voice was hypnotizing you, making you want to listen to his voice for an eternity.

"Up high in the middle of nowhere~" Dazai continued singing "Don't know but you know when you get there~ Walk slow and low on a tightrope~ Hope it lasts but you know, you never know~ Take a chance we can dance up in mid-air~ Feel so good, I could die, but I don't care~ Walk slow and low on a tightrope~"

Finally, he finished, opening his eyes and rubbing the back of his head as if he did something embarrassing.

"I'm sorry, I'm not a great singer~" He apologized "I only know the basics of singing, but even they are self-taught~ But I hope, that it wasn't too bad~"

You couldn't say a thing as your jaw was still down, perhaps already on the floor because of how shocked you were, and your whole body froze.

This man...he was going to be the death of you one day.
