The isolation started to get to me, no contact, nothing, for weeks on end. I started to feel my mind approaching insanity, preparing itself for the jump.
Snap
I whipped around to see Aquarius behind me, his eyes stared out from his behind his dark hair, his already pale face looked whiter than the snow on the ground. Aquarius froze when he saw me, the only movement he offered to prove he didn't exist only in my mind was his eyes widening, slowly.
"Kara?" He gently called,"Are you okay?"
I couldn't reply, no if my mind had leapt into insanity I would not start talking to figments of that mind.
"Kara... Do you... Do you. Are you okay?" I nod slowly, even if he only lived in my mind I wanted to respond somehow.
"Do you recognize me?" I nod again, Aquarius was still frozen in place.
"Are you able to speak?" I offered no reply.
"Are you insane?"
I laughed. Why I don't know,"You tell me," I replied between bouts of laughter,"Are you a piece of my mind?"
Aquarius frowned at me,"I'm being serious."
"So am I." I grinned at him,"As far as I know I could be insane, and I doubt that I would know it."
"That doesn't help."
"Why are you here?" I ask him, strolling in circles, swing my legs about as dramatically as I could.
"I..." he stared at me for a short time,"I..."
"It's okay if you can't tell me."
"Well, then I can't tell you."
"Why?" I offer the question in an obnoxious sing-song voice.
"I thought I didn't need to tell you."
"At least tell me why you can't tell me."
"Fine, but that may take a while."
I leap up into a tree,"Good, I have all the time in the world." I couldn't feel the edge anymore, if that meant I was still sane or not was questionable. I choose to believe that I was sane.
"Well for starters, my real name isn't Aquarius."
"Okay. What is your real name?"
"You are happier not knowing."
"Well, now I want to know."
"Are you sure?"I nod my head at him,"My real name is Malum."
"What?" I had gone insane. There was no way that this wolf, or man was Malum. Malum was to hated, to feared. For good reason to, according to the stories about him, he was Evil incarnate, he had lead the wolf packs to war, almost destroying the world. Malum was supposed to be dead. Malum was sitting in front of me.
He hung his head, almost in shame,"You can try to kill me. It won't work, so many have tried. So many times I should have. But I can't die, not while some of the others live. Fate is far to cruel to let that happen."
I feel frozen, struggling to grasp what Malum had said. "It's okay. I. I can understand why you lied to me."
He simply smiled, there was no joy in it.
"You haven't even heard the worst of it yet." He sighed.*******
A little info on Aquarius/Malum's name. Since the start of the story I wanted to have him use a fake name for at least a little while. Why I choose Aquarius I don't recall. Any ways, according to Google Translate Malum translates into evil in Latin. If Google Translate got it wrong please let me know, I don't want a character to have a name that is offensive or incorrect. Don't worry, there will be more of his back round in the next chapter.
Sorry for the short chapter.
Please vote.
Comment if you want.
Enjoy!
