The past is the past

“Alright then, I have an interesting team. I’ll train you all to…”

“But we already trained at the Academy!!” Naruto rudely interrupts Kakashi-sensei.

“As I was going to say, I’ll train you to see if you can really be a ninja or if you need to go back to the Academy. Meet me at the training grounds at 7 AM tomorrow.” Then he used the location jutsu to leave me with these idiots.

“WHAT DOES HE MEAN ‘GO BACK TO THE ACADEMY’?!?!? I’VE ALREADY PASSED THE ACADEMY!!!” Naruto is so annoying; I stand up ready to go.

“He means it’s a test, we succeed and we are truly a ninja but if we fail then we need more time at the academy, simple as.” Then I leave to go back to the place I have got to know as home.

I arrive at some untouched ruins of a house that has been in a huge fire, it feels like it was just yesterday… that I lost the last person I had. When I was a baby my parents died when the nine-tailed fox attacked the village, all I had left was my uncle and my big brother. However my uncle always hurt and abused me so really I only had my big brother. No, stop thinking about that, it’s the past. I walk through the burnt house to my old bedroom. I lie in my old bed with new sheets on and fall to sleep.

The next day at 6 AM I get my outfit on with all my weapons here and there and walk out the door. Like every other day I go to the shop and get something for breakfast, I also get two bouquets before visiting my parents’ grave. When I’m there I place a bouquet on each of their graves and wipe all the dirt and leaves from their grave stones.

“Hey, how are you guys? I’m not doing too bad… I’m a ninja now. I’ve been put on team 7 with Kakashi-sensei. My team mates are not the brightest though, Sasuke doesn’t like anyone so he’ll be hard to deal with. Sakura only likes Sasuke so she won’t do anything good. Naruto wants to prove himself so he’ll do what he wants… I would’ve preferred a different tem but I’ve got who I’ve got…” I sit silently for a minute. “How’s heaven?” I ask in the quietest voice; I notice someone’s presence close by. I look back to see Sasuke close by.

“Do you want to walk to the training grounds with me?” He looks away, pretending that he didn’t see anything.

“Sure.” I get up and we start walking towards the training grounds.

When we get there I jump into a tree and rest on the branches, while reading a book and Sasuke sits by one of the three giant tree trunks in the middle of the opening. Cocky!
