The Silver Shadow

A kiss can start a war

 

I walk around for a while and decide to sleep in a tree, so I climb up with no problem and try to sleep. As I fail to get to sleep... in a tree... at 4 in the morning, I hear someone walking through the woods, towards the opening I can see from where I am. It doesn't take long until I see Ed come into the opening. He looks around and starts doing different hand signs; he finishes by clapping his hands together, like a true alchemist, after that a lot of wooden people came from the trees and started to attack him, leaving huge craters in the trees from where the men were made. He dodges and attacks back, getting hit every once and a while, until they suddenly stop and he pounds the floor in frustration.

"I'm still not good enough!"

"Good enough for what?" I ask and he looks around, like Lee did.

"Who are you?!" He gets into fighting stance and carries on looking around, like he can beat me. I jump around the trees and silently land behind him, I tap his shoulder and he instantly turns around, calming down when he sees it's me. "Killua? What are you doing?"

"Trying to sleep, I saw you fighting, not bad." He scoffs and looks away from me.

"I'm nowhere near good enough."

"Like I asked before, good enough for what?"

"Good enough to beat him."

"Who?" He looks angry as he thinks of this guy.

"It doesn't matter."

"Ed..." I keep my voice soft but I get interrupted.

"I SAID IT DOESN'T MATTER! Just leave it."

"Ed, you can talk to me."

"That's the point, NO I CAN'T! I CAN'T TALK TO ANYONE!"

"Look, it's okay to talk about it. I'm here and I'll listen." I reach out and rest my hand on his arm but he instantly slaps it off.

"No it's not, you won't understand! You're just a naive, spoilt princess who can get what she wants because she can land a punch! The worst thing that happened to you is your nail broke! You don't understand what it's like to have no parents! You don't know what it's like to be in your brother's shadow! You don't know what it's like to cry night after night because you felt completely useless at the moment you were needed the most!" Ed yells at me, getting closer to my face with every sentence.

"Shut up." I whisper with tears starting to run down my face. "Just shut up." I talk a little louder.

"NO! You don't get it!"

"YES I DO!" He's taken aback by this but I'm only getting started. "BOTH OF MY PARENTS DIED WHEN I WAS BORN! MY BIG BROTHER WAS THE ONLY PERSON THAT LOVED ME SO I ALWAYS FOLLOWED HIM! I TRIED TO BE AS GOOD AS HIM! ONLY TO HAVE HIM BURN MY HOUSE AND RUN OFF TO BE A BAD GUY! I CRIED EVERY NIGHT BECAUSE I WAS ALONE AND SCARED! WHEN I TRAVELLED I SAW MULTIPLE MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN DIE IN FRONT OF MY EYES AND I WAS HELPLESS! I COULDN'T DO ANYTHING TO SAVE THEM! EVERY TIME I TRIED GOING TO SLEEP I HEAR THEIR CRYS FOR HELP! SO DON'T YOU DEAR SAY I DON'T GET IT! I UNDERSTAND WHAT IT'S LIKE MORE THAN YOU EVER WILL!" Tears are now running down my face, one after another. Ed looks completely stunned at my outburst but I honestly couldn't care less. As I cry into my hands I feel a pair of arms wrap around me as Ed brings me into a hug.

"I'm sorry, please don't cry." Eds' voice is just a whisper but I fail to calm myself down. "Please," he keeps one arm around my waist and uses the other to get hold of my chin, tilting it so my I'm face to face with him. "You're too beautiful to cry." He rests his forehead on mine, moves his hand so they're both around my waist and pulls me into him, so there's no room between us. "I'm sorry, I didn't know." My crying calms down but I'm not sure what to do so I just look at him and he looks back. I get memorised by his golden eyes, before my mind can process what's happening he starts to move his head closer to mine. Wait, this is what Sasuke done when he... At that moment Ed put his lips on mine, he's kissing me? Before I could react he pulls away and I can see his face is as red as mine feels. We just stare at each other, unsure what to do.

"Ed! EDWARD ELRIC WHERE ARE YOU!" Als' voice can be heard in the distance.

"You better get to your brother."

"Y-yeah." We stare at each other for another second before he quickly lets go of me and starts walking away. "BYE!"

"BYE!" Then he runs towards the sound of his brother's voice.

Looking at the sky, I notice it's around 7 in the morning. My team should be up and about by now, so I go looking for them. When I find them Kakashi is watching Naruto and Sasuke spar with each other but Sakura isn't with them.

"Hey guys, no Sakura?" They all turn to me and greet me with a smile.

"Hey Killua, I sent Sakura to buy some lunch while these two train." Kakashi smiles under his mask and gestures to Naruto and Sasuke.

"Killua, are you okay? You look like you have a fever or something." Naruto points out and they all look at my face, it must still be red from remembering the kiss.

"Yeah, I'm fine; it's just from something that happened this morning."

"What happened?" Sasuke squints his eyes when he asks this.

"A boy kissed me." They all froze for a second before looking really scary; I swear I can see fire in each of their eyes.

"WHO?" They all say at once, luckily Sakura shows up.

"Hey Killua."

"H-hey Sakura." She looks at me confused then looks at the boys.

"What's wrong with them?"

"They freaked after I said a boy kissed me." Sakura does a girl scream and rushes next to me.

"Who? Tell me every detail, I need to know."

"I think it'll be safer to tell you later." I say, motioning towards the boys.

"Okay, but you HAFT TO tell me!"

"I will."

"Hey guys!" We all turn to see Leorios' team walking towards us.

"Hey." I'm the only one to reply.

"What's up with them?" They motion towards the still angry boys.

"I told them a boy kissed me this morning." All of them froze as well and like the others, they started looking scary.

"WHO?" I cower behind Sakura, why are they all getting mad about it? I know Killua's family and Sasuke kissed me before but I still don't get it.
