Chapter 18

Nash POV

Today was my baseball match and I was kinda nervous, like we were playing Montgomery state high. A rival match and there were gonna be scouts watching us to pick who would get a scholarship. I was so nervous and just freaking out, what if I wasn't good enough and cut out to go to LA. I got changed into my baseball uniform and then the door opened. "Hey" I looked behind me and I saw Clementine standing by the door. "Hey" I said walking up to her and giving her a hug, "ready for the big game?" She asked and I swallowed hard on my own breath.

"I'm really nervous" I admitted and she smiled at me, "Nash you'll be amazing" she said and I shook my head. "But what if I screw up" I said and she shook her head, "you won't Nash" she said and I looked at her with a doubtful expression. "But Clementine you don't understand this is about my entire life being planned out for me by other people!" I exclaimed and she looked at me in a troubled and worried expression. "Nash please-" she started but i shook my head and kept talking. "I never said I was going to go to LA to play for a scholarship in baseball but maybe I want to and now I just don't know anymore" I said running my hands through my hair. "For once I feel like I can make a decision in my life but now I just" i said and sighed in frustration.

Looking down I sat on the end of my bed with my knees to my chest and my head in my hands. Than I looked up again to see Clementine walking towards me, "If I even make it to states all I can do is play baseball" I said with disappointment. I looked at Clementine and she stepped forward and kneeled down in front of me placing her hands on my knees. "Nash what's so bad about that?" she asked and I looked at her feeling confused. I went to say something but nothing came out not the words I was wanting to say. I looked away feeling disappointed and she looked at me with a sad expression.

"I think I want more" I said and she got up and moved to sit beside me on the bed, kissing my cheek she cuddled into my side. "If that's what you want" she said and I closed my eyes to just think about everything. "Babe thank you" I said and she kissed my cheek and smiled, "come on we need to get to that game" she said and I got my things together and off we went.

---at the game---

Clementine POV

"Go Nash" I cheered as he ran to first base and he ran as fast as he could, "come on Nash!" I heard the crowd yell. They were all cheering as Nash stopped at first base, Then the next batter stepped up. Some time later Nash had scored a home run and the crowd went wild, "42-33" the announcer said over the loud speaker. Another home run was soon scored by Cameron, then the horn was blown. It was the end of the match, we'd won and there were cheers erupting from the grounds.

---After Game---

I was walking around the canteen just waiting to see any sign of Nash, "Clem!" I heard a voice call and I looked over seeing Nash and I just ran towards him and jumped in his arms. "Congratulations" I said as he spun me around from catching me. "Thanks" he said and he put me down and we both just looked at each other. "You did it!" I said and he smiled.

"Excuse me Nash Grier?" A scout called out. "Yes sir" Nash replied and the man handed Nash an envelope. "Congratulations you have a scholarship" the man said shaking Nash's hand then he left. Nash turned to me and I smiled, "congratulations!" I said and he was in disbelief. "I can't believe I got it" he said still in shock. I hugged him and he hugged back then our eyes met and we moved in closer until our lips met. A soft kiss nothing more until we heard a cough and separated.

We both looked over and there we saw Jenna just standing there with a grin on her face and behind her was Hayes. What was going on?
