12. Messed Up

Summary of the story uptil now:

On the night of Akash and Payal's wedding, Arnav proposes Khushi in front of millions of guests, winning her heart as well as all her love and trust. Both get marry and life after that was blissful for Khushi whose each and every need was being taken care by Arnav. He showered her with all his love and she felt her life being completed when she got the news of her pregnancy. Ecstatic, she waited to disclose the news to Arnav only to be faced by the harsh reality that her life uptil now was nothing but a lie. Giving her the divorce papers, Arnav disclose his actual intentions behind marrying her, that is making her dependent on him like Shyam did to Anjali and then leave her to suffer.

Everyone in the family, except Manohar shuns Khushi and Arnav throw her out of the house, ignoring the ache in his heart. All the happenings break Anjali to no limit and she loses her baby. Akash and Payal returns from their business trip after hearing this news. Payal is disgusted to know what the Raizadas did and leaves Akash as the latter himself shuns her after knowing her support to Khushi. Akash later convinces the family to bring Shyam back for Anjali and they relented, not knowing the Shyam they brought back was burning in vengeance. His revenge started when he gave Anjali birth control pills to ensure she never gets her baby back.

On the other hand, shashi gets a heart attack after knowing what happened to his daughter and is taken to the hospital where Khushi is admitted. The people who saved Khushi turned to be her father's former friends, Amar and Meghna. The duo takes the entire Gupta family with them to ooty, after knowing everything, except for the name of the person who messed up Khushi's life.

The story takes a leap of three months where Khushi and Payal are seen living a peaceful life with Amar and Meghna and their children, Kabir, Khwaish and Ruhi. The Guptas are at an ayurvedic centre for Shashi's treatment.

Back in Delhi, Anjali tries to set Arnav with his employee Sheetal who loves him but respect his decision and love for his ex-wife.

Arnav leads his desolated life and soon lands in Ooty where he finalises a deal with Kabir not knowing that Khushi is there itself. His family along with Sheetal reaches Ooty.

"H-how are you, Chotte?" Anjali asked nervously breaking the hug as she felt Arnav's posture going rigid.

She gulped when he gave her a known look of irritation and turned back to see another lamb inwardly shivering from the burning gazes Arnav threw at her.

"Woh...Chotte..Sheetal-" Anjali trailed off seeing the look on Arnav's face. No excuses will work right now, she knew it.

"What happened to applying for leave before coming here, Sheetal?" Arnav asked, trying hard to not grit his teeth.

Sheetal opened her mouth to answer but only air came out as she didn't have any reply.

How would she?

It was yesterday only that Anjali had forced her to tag along.

"Bhai, she asked me! And don't worry! Everything has been taken care of...her absence won't cause any loss in the productivity of the office work...Rest assured!" This time it was Akash who came to her rescue. He cleared his throat and looked away nervously when Arnav directed his eyes to him.

Arnav sighed exasperated and nodded, his face still hardened.

"Y'all just go and freshen up.." he mumbled and walked back to his room having a lot to say but not wanting to argue.
