Khushi laughed from the couch as Kabir and Payal fought over the dinner menu, almost tearing the recipe book which was stuck in their fight. Khwaish and Ruhi were in the kitchen trying to figure out the concept of cake making, missing all the fun out here.
"Khadoos stop it! We will have macroni for dinner and that too which will be prepared by me! That's it!!" Kabir said, trying to snatch the recipe book from her hand.
"Oh really? You will prepare the dinner? Like you did last time and almost burned down the whole house? No thanks! I will manage! Now leave this book and don't even think of entering the kitchen!" Payal retorted, pulling the recipe book towards her.
"It was a mistake and YOU don't even think of ordering me, understand Khadoos?" Kabir shouted back and continued to fight.
"Enough both of you!" They stopped and turned back to see Amar and Meghna standing with the presents they just bought for the family coming to dine with them.
"It's limits now! You're no longer little kids but two grown ups! Learn to act your age instead of fighting like this!" Meghna chided placing the shopping bags on the table and taking a seat besides Amar who shrugged his shoulders when Kabir turned his poor face to him.
Embarrassed, both Kabir and Payal nodded and quietly sat on the sofa opposite each other muttering curses for each other under their breaths.
Khushi giggled at their faces but pressed her lips together as Payal glared at her.
Meghna shook her head at her grown up kids and turned to Khushi.
"How was your appointment with Maya, Khushi? Is everything fine?" She asked carressing Khushi's head.
Khushi smiled,
"Yes Badi Maa..she said that everything is fine! I just have to continue with the same routines and the baby should be fine and healthy!" She replied.
Meghna nodded, "See, and you were getting worried for no reason! Even I had started to get worried seeing your doleful face!" She said, her concern lacing from her voice.
Giving her a small smile, Khushi looked away.
How does she explain to her the actual cause of her sorrow?
Payal sighed at her face but then smiled taking her phone.
"Don't worry Badi Maa! I have the perfect cure for her mood!" She said sliding near Khushi and dialed a number on her phone while the rest looked at her confused.
Smiling, she put the call on speaker and a familiar voice from the other side was heard, making them all smile.
"Babuji..?" Khushi whispered, a smile blooming on her face.
