Khushi stared out of the window with a strange restlessness settling in the pit of her stomach. She has been feeling like this since last night, for a reason completely unknown to her and much to her dislike, she is unable to shrug this feeling off.
That's why when Khwaish proposed to go to the Mall, she agreed thinking it would be a perfect distraction for her but instead, the jitter in her chest increased, making her both anxious and angry.
The car halting in front of the house jolted her back to earth and she looked around, sighing as she stepped out of the car and waited for Khwaish to get down too, with her shopping bags.
"Khwaish, hurry up! Do you need help?" She asked, adjusting her dupatta and frowned at the silence. She turned, only to find herself alone near the car.
"Good Evening, young lady!"
Khushi jumped, turning around at the sudden voice to gape at the sight in front of her.
"Jiji..?" She murmured, shocked as she looked at Payal from head to toe, who was dressed in an O-neck lace black knee-length dress. Her hair was tied back in a sleek ponytail and she was standing in a straight posture, glazing her with a professional smile.
"I hope you didn't have any problem reaching here for our show." Payal continued, attempting a british accent and added as she encircled her arm with Khushi's,
"If you did, then also no worries! Because I'm sure all your complains will fly away in a blink soon!"
Khushi blinked, looking at her weirdly as she led her to the entrance.
"Jiji..are you..you're okay, right?" She asked, still in shock at the derange behavior of her sister.
"Come, c'mon in!" Payal smiled at her, as if she didn't hear her question and pushed open the door, revealing the decorated hall.
The furniture was no longer to be seen as they were replaced by a stage. The space was filled with white and blue balloons with several mini seats kept in front of the stage with teddy bears sitting on them as audiences. Amidst them was a big chair waiting for someone to sit on.
Khushi's lips broke into an amused smile as she took in the surroundings. She watched with the same smile playing on her lips as Payal directed her to the chair before she walked on the stage, taking with her a toy microphone which seemed to be belonging to Ruhi.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, we are glad to have you here with us for our Show. Hope you will enjoy the performances. Let us have a grand start with our two talented dancers, Madhumatiji and Kabirji's masterpiece, Tu mere agal bagal! Give a big round of applause for them!" Payal announced, clapping her hands.
Khushi laughed, looking around as indeed a big round of applause boomed in the hall, from the loud speakers.
This was crazy!
