Kabir entered his cabin and took his file from the table. He skimmed through the pages to ensure everything was fine, before proceeding to the meeting scheduled with Mr. Raizada when his assistant, Anna flurried through the door to his cabin.
"Anna careful!" He chided as she nearly tripped over her own feet, "Have you forgotten how to knock?"
Anna gulped, her breathing irregular because of running.
"I'm sorry, sir! Ac..actually...actually the meeting with Mr. Raizada has been cancelled." She informed nervously, knowing well how important this meeting was and how angry Kabir can get due to this unprofessional behavior.
And as she expected, the next second, he snapped,
"What the hell? What nonsense are you speaking? Mr. Raizada was already here, wasn't he? Then how the hell can this meeting be cancelled?" He asked, his tone scaring the fits out of his poor assistant.
She nodded,
"But his manager, Mr. Aman said that due to some emergency he had to return back home and-"
"Okay fine, thanks for informing, you may leave now!" He halted her statement rudely.
Anna nodded quickly and scurried out of the cabin, not wanting anymore scolding from her boss.
Kabir flung the file on his table and breath out a sigh of exasperation.
He was usually a calm and fun-to-work-with type of boss, but there were certain matters that he would not tolerate, unprofessional behavior was one of them.
But this kind of behavior from The ASR is unexpected and rare.
"Maybe there was actually an emergency," He thought.
Whatever it is, now that the meeting is cancelled, he should concentrate on other works instead of wasting any more time.
Sighing, he went back to his seat when his phone rang.
He frowned seeing, Dr. Maya, Khushi's gynecologist's name flashing on his mobile screen.
"Hello?" He answered the call.
"Umm..Hello kabir? It's me, Dr. Maya! Sorry to disturb you but I called to ask, is Khushi okay?" Maya asked putting some report files back at the table.
His frown deepened.
"Yeah, why? What happened?"
"That's what I'm asking you, Kabir. What happened? Normally she wouldn't miss any of her appointments but today she didn't show up! She was supposed to be here by 10 o'clock and its already past 10:30 and she's still nowhere to be seen! I asked at the reception as well, she wasn't here! Is she...hello? hello?" She sounded confounded as the call was cut abruptly.
