Khushi walked back in the house, pondering over some matters when her thoughts halted, as she felt a gentle yet solid hold around her left forearm.
"Khushi, where were you?" Arnav's voice was troubled, causing her to bite back a sigh as she smile softly at him.
"Nowhere." Her soothing voice resounded in his ears, and he complied as she directed him to the waiting family near the breakfast table, sitting on the chair she gently pushed him onto. His gaze never leaving her face.
"It was just a needed quick chat with the doctor." Khushi said casually, taking her place besides Arnav.
Arnav shook his head in acknowledgement and temporarily turned his attention to the food being served to him by an overjoyed Anjali.
A smile was what was scattered on every faces on the table, except three of them.
Payal and Kabir were, well, unaffected by whatever happens around them in that house, whereas Khushi had returned back to her pensive state.
She swallowed the food and got hold of her cell phone lying on the table between her plate and glass of orange juice.

"You got an email earlier today. It was some Rajveer Taneja, inviting you for a get together."
Khushi said, folding the clothes she just brought inside, her words freezing Arnav on the spot momentarily.
"Err..ermm.." Arnav cleared his throat, placing back the book he was reading. The thought of leaving the house and socializing creating a slight havoc in his mind.
"Yeah..I mean, he's a business associate, a close friend you might even say.. And, he's been inviting us to such parties for a while now.." He sighed, straightening his posture on the bed. He brought his hands on his knees, interlocking his fingers, an uncertain look dwelling on his face.
"..and we have accepted most of it but...but now I don't think it's a good time to..I mean, for me to go out and..and I don't know..meet people..? It..it just doesn't seem like a good decision right now.."
Khushi held the clothes on her lap, staring at Arnav as he looked more frightful than disagreeable regarding the idea.
She kept the fabrics on the recliner before she approached him. Her hand reached for his hesitantly, but nonetheless, she kept a smile on her face, for his sake.
"Arnavji, I know. I know the last few months have been horribly hard, es-especially for you. You've lost contact with the outside world for so long that you can't seem to re-adapt in that setting. But if we are to change that, then we will have to start from somewhere." Her fingers tightened around his hand as it shivered.
