"No Z's in sight." Mack said walking back to the truck.

"Is anyone else worried about Mr. Sunshine out there?" Doc asked ,talking about Murphy who was out in a field to pee.

"I know. He's looking worse." Garnett agreed with Doc.

"Yeah, he was pretty creepy to start with." Warren agreed with the two.

"Come on ,guys. Give him a break. It's the apocalypse. None of us look our best." Addy said.

"Why'd you look at me when you said that? Do I look exceptionally terrible?" I questioned. Addy rolled her eyes but was smiling ,ruining the effect. "She's right though. It's been one long bad hair day." I stated.

"Speaking of hair, what's with all the bald patches?" Mack asked.

"Maybe that vaccine is like zombie chemo." Cassandra said.

"Or maybe the vaccine isn't working." 10K suggested.

"What do you think ,Doc?" Garnett asked.

"I've seen Zs look better than him." Doc told him.

"Will he make it to California?"Garnett asked again.

"If we haul ass."

"If he goes zombie, we might have to put him down."

"Dibs on piking him." Warren said.

"Damn it, Warren. I wanted too." I whined like a child.

"Sorry, Chris."

"If he turns, piking him is the least of our problems." Garnett said. Murphy then turned around.

"What?" He asked.

"Pit stop's over. Let's get moving." Garnett told him.

"I have a ginormous bladder. Sue me." Murphy said.

"Man, I sure could use some of them Kansas City barbeque ribs about now." Doc said climbing into the back seat behind Warren. Everyone else got into the truck as well.

It took a couple minutes for Warren to start the truck up and drive.

We pulled up to a gate that had roadblocks in front of it. There were signs on the gate and roadblocks. One said 'Province Town'. The other said 'Prepare to surrender all weapons before entry'.

"Surrender all weapons? Are they serious?" 10K asked.

"Looks like." Mack said.

The truck pulled forward a little more until people came out in front of us with guns.

"Stop right there! This is a private compound! I'm gonna have to ask you to turn around and go back the way you came!" The girl of the people called out to us.

Garnett got out with his arms raised. He lowered one hand to shut the door before raising it again. He stepped forward to talk to them.

"I'm looking for Major Williams. Joe Williams." Garnett told them.

"And who are you?" The woman asked.

"I'm Sargent Charles Garnett, Georgia National Guard. We've known each other going back pre-Z." Garnett answered her.

"Wait there. Your crew stays in the truck. They try to get out or we see a weapon, we'll fire." The woman told him. Garnett looked back to give us a reassuring look.

Then a man dressed in army green came out. "Well, Holy shit. It's the ghost of Charlie Garnett. Never expected to see you again. At least not alive."
