I woke up to feeling someone moving the blanket on me. I used the knife I sleep with to stab by their hand ,just out of reflex ,a reflex I had even before the apocalypse. I opened my eyes wide ,feeling like this whole apocalypse was just a dream and I'll open my eyes to see Carter. Thankfully, when I open my eyes I'm not greeted with Carter's hostile brown eyes ,but 10k's warm ,now slightly panicked, green eyes.
"The... blanket... I was just... Sorry." 10K stuttered. He moved back to the chair he must've been sitting on.
"No, I'm sorry." I apologized.
"Scared of that one. You know what they say about the crazy ones." I heard Murphy tell Doc. I looked over at them before back at 10K.
"Best not to mess." Doc told Murphy.
"You know if we breed those two, it'd be all over four the zombies." Murphy told Doc.I rolled my eyes at them.
I sat up ,hugging the blanket to me. 10K looked over at me.
"I'm sorry." I told him.
"I- uh. It's fine." He stuttered. I laughed lightly at how awkward he was.
"Thank you for fixing the blanket." I told him.
"No problem." He said ,still sounding nervous but he didn't stutter this time.
"Puppies and kittens! Time to go! Everybody out the back!" Warren yelled running into the house with Garnett.
I jumped off the couch. I slipped my knife into the sheath on the belt. I ran out the back door like Warren said.
10K and I were the first out ,followed by Cassandra then Doc and Murphy. Then Warren came out with Addy and Mack behind her. Garnett just behind them.

We were stopped on a road that goes through a random field. Some of us were listening to Citizen Z on the radio. I don't know what everyone else was doing.
"In our continuing effort to bring you up to the minute information, we at Z-TV have acquired a National Weather Service satellite that they are using anymore. But that's not important." Citizen Z said in a deep voice ,acting like he was some news anchor. "We now go to John Smith, southern weather correspondent to get his opinion on the story."
"This is the badassest storm this weather mans ever seen. From the Gulf of Mexico right up the Mississippi alley, trouble is brewing." Citizen Z said with a southern accent. "I don't know if they call it a turricane or a tornado or what. If you're anywhere south of Chicago or east of the Rockies, I'm issuing a get your butt in a bunker warning."
"He's funny." I laughed at not just his words but his southern accent.
"Hey, I hope you guys are getting this. Chris and friends. You guys got to seek shelter immediately because this is bad. And... When you seek shelter immediately and after you do that, you need to contact me and tell me where you are. And I'll update you with further instructions ,okay? Alright, well, this is Citizen Z, and I'm signing off." Citizen Z said in his normal voice.
"Well, he killed the funny. You're never supposed to kill the funny." I sighed.
"So which way do we go?" Garnett asked.
"The storms pushing his way up from the gulf. If we make it to the I-70, we can outrun it." Warren told him.
"That storms is moving faster than that craptastic truck ever will." Doc told Warren.
"Oh, I like that word." I said.
"What?" Doc asked.
"I like the word craptastic. It's funny." I said.
