In the Apocalypse

White Light

We all ran around a corner. We were after Murphy and Cassandra. We could see him from this distance. In front of us ,but behind Murphy and Cassandra, was the guy from the strip club. 

"Murphy!" Warren yelled after him.

At the end of the alley way we were running on, Cassandra ran the opposite direction of Murphy. They should know we're going for Murphy right. 

Murphy went one way on the street. The guy didn't even spare Cassandra a glance and ran after Murphy. I forced myself not to look in the direction that Cassandra had run off in as we all turned the corner as well. 

A car drove in front of Murphy. They were passing by. The guy ahead of us, the one from the strip club, shot at them. The second shot killed the driver, causing them to crash. 

We hid behind a car as we heard more gunshots. We heard the gunshots stop. I was about to get up when there were two more shots. 

"Okay, it's like that then." Warren mumbled.

We looked over the car. The guy and Murphy were gone. A red jeep drove passed. 

I heard a car stop behind us. I guess we all did since all of us turned to look. It was the red van from earlier. The girl driving aimed a shotgun at us. 

We all went to move to the other side. 10K grabbed my hand and pulled me with him. We didn't go behind the car though. We ran and hid behind a building ,around the corner of the street.

"10K, Chris! Murphy!" Warren called. I nodded at her. 

"Let's go." I said. The gunshots really sobered me up. 

10K peered around the corner. Then ,when he thought it was clear, 10K ran. I ran behind him ,surprisingly keeping up with him.

"There he is." I stated ,pointing at Murphy who was getting up. 

10K ran for him. I ran after him. 10K tackled him to the ground. I jogged over to them.

"Ow! You stupid jerk!" Murphy snapped. 

"Oh shut up." I told him. "Here's the rope." I tossed the rope to 10K. 

He started getting it ready to tie. I looked around. A guy in a suit caught my attention. He had a rocket launcher. 

"Tommy, watch out!" I called. I pushed him to the side just in time to miss the rocket being launched at us. 

I hit my head on a rock on the ground and that's all I remember before everything goes black.

I opened my eyes when I heard muffled gun fire. My ears were ringing. 10K's face was right in front of mine. I watched as his eyes fluttered open. In this light, his eyes looked blue instead of green.

"Are you okay?" I whispered. He opened his mouth to say something but was pulled up. I got pulled up too. We both got pulled behind a car. Mack, Addy, Warren, and Doc were behind the car. It was Doc that had gotten us. 

"You two scared the hell out of me." Doc told us. 

"Where am I?" 10K asked. 

"Don't worry. We got you." Doc assured him. 

"What?!" 10K asked loudly.

"I said we got you now!" Doc said a little louder.

"I can't hear you!" 10K shouted. 

"Why the hell is everybody shooting at everybody?!" Addy yelled. 

"'Cause Murphy's the golden goose!" Warren exclaimed. "Well we're sitting ducks here. We're gonna have to split up into groups and keep moving. 10K, Chris, are you two alright?"
