In the Apocalypse

The Siege of Murphytown Part 2

Warren nodded and led the way. Sun Mei ran after her. I went to follow but got distracted. I saw a flash of red down the street.

I chased after it. I knew it wasn't likely to be her but I had to see. I turned down the alley way she went. There she was. It was her.

"Red!" I called. She stopped and looked back at me. I ran and caught up. She had 5K with her. "Oh, my God. You guys are alive?" I questioned.

She hugged me. "Yeah, and it's good to see you too." She told me. She glanced behind me. I looked to see zombies.

"Let's go." I said.

We started running. We made it over by the dam. We had outrun the other zombies.

I saw 10K getting shot at. He killed one of the members of the Red Hand. Then he got shot in the shoulder. Zombies were getting closer to him ,but they weren't ignoring him like they should be.

I ran out to him. I killed the zombie that had reached him in the time it took me to run over. Red went with me to watch my back. 5K covered us with a slingshot. I grabbed 10K's arms and pulled him away from the zombies.

"You're bleeding." I pointed out. He glanced down at me as we ran.

"Are you really here?" He asked me.

As we got to Red, she joined us in running away. The same with 5K. We ran for a while.

"We can stop. We lost the Zs." Red said. We all stopped running.

"You guys look good for a hallucination." 10K told us.

"What are you talking about?" I asked him.

"Murphy. I have to go." 10K jogged off.

"Where are you going?" Red asked.

"He's going to be Murphy's bitch. Just for a bit until I kill Murphy. Warren won't do it ,but I will." I told her. I started jogging after 10K. Red and 5K jogged with me.

"What's going on?" Red asked.

I explained everything to her. How Murphy's biting people to create his blend army. How he bit 10K when he was injured. How 10K has to listen to Murphy.

"10K?" Red asked ,running into the lab. 5K and I followed them in. "Are you alright?" 5K hugged 10K. It was so cute ,honestly.

"Who are they?" Sun Mei asked ,looking between 10K and I for answers.

"Don't worry. They're not real." 10K told Sun Mei.

"What're you talking about?" I asked 10K.

"What are you talking about?" Sun Mei asked ,putting an emphasison 'what are'.

"Whenever I'm in a bad spot, a vision of you comes and tries to save me. And sometimes they're there too." 10K told me.

"Really?" Red asked, looking between 10K and I with a slight smirk.

"That's sweet ,but we really don't have time for this. I need your help." Sun Mei said.

"I can't help you. Murphy wouldn't want you to have any of this." 10K told her. I rolled my eyes.

"I need your help." Sun Mei put her hand on her pistol that was in its holster on her belt.

"I can't." 10K said. 5K cawed.

"10K. Let her help you." Red told him.

"I'd like to ,but you're just a dream." 10K said ,looking between all three of us.
