Everybody Dies in the End Part 2

"Choke. Die. Bite. Inject." Warren repeated Sun Mei's instructions.

I tied his bandanna around his neck. I looked down at him before I tightened it. He was looking up at me with pain filled eyes. "I'm doing this for you ,baby. Come back to us please."

Then I tightened the bandanna around his throat. He started struggling to breath. I felt tears roll down my face as I did this.

"Tighter." Sun Mei told me. I listened and pulled the ends of the bandanna harder. "Hold."

"Is there a faster, less painful way to do this?" I cried ,struggling to keep the bandanna tight.

"No." Sun Mei told me.

Then 10K quit moving. I held onto the bandanna. I felt paralyzed in shock of what I just did. I just killed 10K.

"Now." I heard Sun Mei tell Murphy.

I forced myself to move and let go. I scooted away from 10K. I watched as Murphy bit 10K's forearm. Then Sun Mei injected him in the shoulder. Warren untied the bandanna from around his neck. Murphy closed his eyes ,trying to feel for 10K.

"He's gone." Murphy said sadly.

I choked on a sob as I stood up. I quickly went down the stairs and for the door. I couldn't be in here. I killed 10K. I can't believe I killed him. He's gone and I killed him.

"Chris, wait!" Warren called quietly, still trying not to alert any Zona soldiers.

I ignored her. I went out the door ,forcing down sobs. Doc stopped me by the end of the hall.

"How is he?" Doc asked me.

I looked at him ,planning on keeping the sobs down, but as soon as I saw the worried look on his face, I broke down. I dropped the floor sobbing. Doc got down on the floor with me, pulling me into a hug.

"He's dead. He's dead and I killed him." I sobbed.

"What?" Doc pulled back enough to look at me.

"I killed him." I told him slowly. I felt small arms wrap around me. I pulled away from Doc to hug 5K back. He started crying into my shoulder. I did the same to him.

"Chris!" I heard Sun Mei say. I looked up at her to see her looking down at me with a smile. "Come on." She told me.

I released 5K and stood up. I walked into the other room where 10K was. I saw him sitting up. Him and Red were hugging.

"Oh, thank God." I muttered.

I ran up the stairs. Him and Red had pulled apart by the time I got up there. I nearly tackled him in a hug. He fell backwards from the hug so he was laying on the floor with me on top of him. I pulled back enough to look at him.

"You're alive." I said in relief.

"I am?" He questioned ,looking up at me with big eyes.

"You are. You're alive. Thank God. I love you. I love you so much." I told him. I kissed his forehead, then his cheek, the corner of his mouth, his other cheek, his nose, then finally his lips. It was a quick peck until he pulled me back to him ,kissing me more fully. I definitely didn't object to that.

"We need to hurry." I heard Murphy state as 10K and I separated.

"Stay with him until he recovers." Warren told Sun Mei, glancing over at me too. I nodded. Warren walked over to us. She bent down and pressed a kiss on 10K's forehead, glad he was okay. Then she led the others out to find Lucy.

Sun Mei, 10K, 5K, Red, and I made it up to the roof just to see all of our group on the ground. I had the carrier on again so that 5K could move more freely. The Man was carrying Lucy over his shoulder by the edge. At least I think that's Lucy. She's blue. However, she was a teenager. She was just a few years younger than me.
