"I read once that you could drink your own urine. But all I'm pissing is dust." Doc said. We were all lying around ,feeling the effects of dehydration. It had been a couple days since we had anything to drink and it was hot right now. I was lying beside 10K with my eyes closed.
"Be glad ,Doc. Do you really want your last drink to be urine?" I asked him lazily.
"I guess not." He said.
I heard footsteps but didn't bother opening my eyes. Dehydration is one of the worst ways to go out so if a Z wants to come and speed the process up ,I'm all for it.
"Water isn't gonna find you just sittin' there." I heard Murphy say.
"Why are you so freakin' chipper?" Warren asked him.
"I've been wonderin' that myself. Maybe it's because I conserve my precious bodily fluids." Murphy answered her.
Then I heard a rumbling noise. I could feel the ground slightly vibrating as well.
"What is that? Is that an earthquake?" 10K asked from beside me.
"More like a zombiequake." Doc stated.
I opened my eyes. I had to prop myself on my elbows to see over 10K. There was a bunch of zombies in a cloud of dust coming in our direction.
"Goddam guys just won't quick." Warren commented.
"I suggest we run for it." Murphy started to jog off. Warren dropped the thing in her hand, I didn't even check what it was. I laid back down and closed my eyes. "Come on ,guys. Pick it up." Murphy told us.
"I... We... Can't. Dehydrated." Warren told him.
"Come on. Keep moving." Murphy said.
"Let's go." I heard Warren say. I groaned.
I opened my eyes and everyone except me and 10K were already going. 10K stood up and helped me stand. We ran after the others. Surprisingly we caught up quickly.
Warren led us into a building. I didn't care what it was, I just wanted to be out of there. I guess I didn't want to die by zombies yet ,not when there was a chance to live.
"Wait!" I heard someone yell from outside.
I looked to see two guys running for the building. Warren waited for them. One got tackled by a zombie but the other one made it. Warren shot the guy that got tackled ,mercying him. Then she closed the door just in time since the zombies started banging on the door as soon as she closed it.
We all laid down again. I leaned against a wall. 10K laid with his head in my lap. I leaned my head back against the wall. I was starting to fall asleep.
"So that's it? You're all just gonna lay down and die?" Murphy asked. "Chris!" I felt a hand on my shoulder, making me jump and open my eyes. Murphy was crouched down beside me.
"Knock it off ,Murphy." Warren mumbled from where she was sitting with her head on the desk.
"Three days without water ,man. The human body hits the wall." Doc told Murphy. I relaxed and closed my eyes again.
"There must be thousands of them." I heard Cassandra say.
"Millions. They're migrating." An unfamiliar voice said ,it must be the guy that Warren let in.
"Migrating to where?" Warren asked.
"South for the winter." The guy answered.
"Like birds?" I asked tiredly.
