At first, I was weary of her when I first saw her in Yoongi's apartment, but she quickly grew on me.
She seems to be kind especially seeing her practically run around this clothing store with a shine in her eyes. She is so innocent and it's a pleasant change, for Yoongi.
I kept peeking over at him... seeing him looking at her with an expression I haven't seen before. Maybe helping her will help him move on with his life. At least I hope it will because he deserves the best.
She found the section of the store where they often have holograms of animals moving around. Today they had goldfish swimming. She raised her hand trying to touch one. Even though it seems silly she was quite graceful doing it. I looked at Yoongi and caught him smiling slightly while watching her. He saw me looking at him and removed his smile as quickly as it showed up. He walked away pretending like I didn't see him.
I grabbed some clothes I thought she might like and walked up to her.
"Did you find anything you want to wear?" I distracted her from the holograms.
"oh ... I uh, kinda got distracted" She looked down shyly.
"That's OK" I laughed. "I found these for you." I handed her the clothes and she happily went to the changing room.
"She's gorgeous." The shop owner walked up to me. I never liked the owner in this place, he always gave me a creepy vibe whenever a pretty customer was shopping. I was hoping he wouldn't be here today.
"She's not yours, is she?" This question just made me hate him even more.
"She's not property to be owned." I stated loudly to make him uncomfortable. Luckily it worked.
"Oh, I didn't mean it like that..." he continued to ramble until he finally walked away from the situation.
"Jimin, I'll just be outside I think I see something. Just gonna look around quickly."
"No problem!" Yoongi left the store.
I almost forgot this was like a mission and that Yumi needed protection.
She walked out of the dressing room, the clothes she chose to wear from what I picked out really suited her. She put on the high top pink sneakers with distressed skinny jeans. She had on the light pink crop top and an oversize black sweater. The way she tied her hair in those two high buns made the grunge look adorable.
"Is that comfortable for you?" I was worried maybe she didn't like it.
"I love it actually." She smiled warmly.
"Maybe we should get you some accessories to complete the look!" I was excited to help a female out with fashion. I always only had Tae to do this kind of thing with, though I love it, the clothes are all pretty much the same after a while.
"N-no! This is perfect. You don't need to spend more then you need to!"
I didn't want to make her feel guilty again.
"Alright well, I'll get you a few more outfits and some pj's. We don't know how long it'll be before we figure things out."
"Right" she looked around the store. "Where's Yoongi? Is he having another episode?" She asked with pure concern.
"Episode?" I asked.
"Yeah... last night he was talking to a hallucination. He said it was connected to his friend who passed? I was really..." she stopped talking when she realized I didn't know about this.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised that he would keep something like that away from me. But it also just made me more worried. I'll have to bring this up with him later.
"I'm sorry, I thought you knew..." She took a step back, afraid I would be mad.
"It's fine."
I picked up the last things she might need and payed for everything. She removed the tags on the clothes she was wearing and we both walked outside.
Yoongi was there waiting for us. He looked at Yumi's new clothes, but he seemed to not be able to really process what he was seeing. He looked like he was in pain. Yumi gave me a look telling me it must be this so-called episode he's been experiencing.
"Okay, so we'll walk around now and if anything seems familiar to you, let us know. Even if you're unsure." I told her trying to change the mood a little.
"OK!"
We walked around for a while. She insisted on carrying the shopping bag and she got distracted by things here and there, like if she was experiencing this city for the first time.
She reminded me of that time, years ago when Tae and I were still figuring out our relationship and we used to just wander the streets together, trying to get to know each other better. To figure out this strange attraction we had. Sometimes I miss those days.
She stopped suddenly and stared at a shops window.
She pointed at a sticker with the symbol for the city's president, RM.
"I remember seeing that."
