I hated meeting him. But I need him. He's the only one who can bring this city the justice it deserves. When I truly understood that, I felt useless as a leader. If I had let him continue maybe this city would have been better.
The only way I could live with this decision is if he wasn't doing this as cruelly as he was doing it before.
JK01 walked up to me. His new cyborg body was something to get used to. He looked like himself but older. More developed. Just different enough for people to not recognize him.
He looked to be not as confident as he has been in our previous meetings here in the outskirts of the city.
"What is it?" I wanted to get to the point.
"There's been a few issues..." he stood up straight and looked at me directly. "I thought I had made the perfect example of what you wanted, but something went wrong. That's not an issue I know how to perfect it to your needs now. But she escaped. We've been trying to hunt her down, but she keeps slipping through our grasp."
"Maybe she's more perfect then you thought."
"She is perfect but she's not what you wanted. The next issue is that a man breached our lab, we needed to relocate. He might have gotten access to some information."
I ran my fingers through my hair.
"Do you know who it was? Paparazzi?"
He smiled now in an almost sinister way.
"You might know him, a certain vampire that goes by the name Tae."
Shit.
If it was Tae, then maybe his visit with the others to my office was more then just a simple visit. They must be onto me.
"Do you want my men to eliminate the threat?" JK01 stared at me.
"Is that what you would do?"
"I like to play games. I would personally wait to see if they can figure it out and then eliminate them, but then again, I was found out by you, so it might not be the best way to handle this."
I then remembered the girl Yoongi said was his girlfriend.
"Did she have a name? The one who escaped?"
JK01 seemed puzzled by my question. "Yumi"
She.... is this perfect creation? She's not human? I was completely fooled.
"You saw her?" he pressed.
"I did... she really is your most perfect creation..."
He gently smiled, he knew what he created was the best he could ever do. I have never seen him to be so proud.
"So, the problem with her is that she can't be controlled is that it?"
"Well it depends. I have some things I recently came up with, but I need time to make them. You could always just try to convince her to do what you want." He suggested.
That would be a risk. If I did tell her and she didn't want to do it I could be exposed as someone who does shady shit, I would lose my chance to help this city. Yoongi would never trust me again if he doesn't already.
"No, I think we need to try your invention. If it doesn't work, we'll destroy the evidence and you'll make what I need, properly."
"You mean destroy her..."
I walked away and lazily waved at him. Sometimes you need to make tough decisions to keep the majority safe.
I will clean up this city.
No matter what.
