I wrapped up the gunshot wound on the one arm I had that wasn't a robotic prosthetic. Of course, it couldn't have been the arm I can't feel pain with.
I looked at my reflection in the bathroom of our old apartment. We still had this one if we ever went out late and didn't feel like going to our apartment back at the library.
Jimin is going to be mad that I got injured again.
I went to our fridge and took a blood bag pouring it into a mug. Jimin entered the apartment and saw my bandage.
Expecting him to talk my ear off about it I was shocked when he pulled me into an embrace. Did our date last night help our relationship a little?
We had been arguing so much lately I was worried anything we did wouldn't save the bond we used to have. I have been trying so hard to distance myself too. To protect him from...
I returned his embrace squeezing him slightly. It was nice to feel his warmth this close again.
"Are you OK? What happened?" He looked at me.
"It's not that bad." We sat down on the couch. The same couch that we sat on years ago, when fate had brought us back together.
"I went down to the old underground district that used to be the Vampire district, someone tipped me that there was some sort of activity there last night." I began to explain.
"What kind of activity?" Jimin asked, genuinely curious.
"They didn't really explain, they just gave me coordinates."
"That could have been a set up."
"Yeah but the fact it was in that area I wanted to make sure it wasn't any sort of vampire activity. We don't need more of us running around." I half joked and took a sip from my mug. "I went to the building he told me about and it looked abandoned. I waited for a while and then saw some people walk into it."
"So, you went in too?" Jimin knew me too well.
"Yeah. Honestly the place gave me a terrible feeling."
Jimin waited for me to continue but I knew maybe the feeling I had was a little far fetched.
"It looked really similar to the labs JK01 used to have in his headquarters, before we blew it up."
His face looked puzzled. "Are you saying that JK01 might have some copy cats?"
"That's a possibility. You know how there were a lot of people who still wanted to follow him even when he was in prison? Maybe they're trying to re-create his work."
"It could also be a coincidence that it looks similar. Most labs look the same." he saw my expression then "Unless you found some sort of proof?"
"Well, as I walked around, keeping to the shadows I overheard some people talking, they mentioned the name Jungkook."
Jimin's eyes widened. "That was his name before he created JK01 wasn't it?"
I nodded "On top of that I walked into a lab that was empty and I saw some of the plans they had. I didn't really understand much about it, but I took photos of the notes, maybe Yoongi would understand them better. But it looked like they're trying to create something new."
"What do you mean new?"
"Well, there was a lot of biology mixed with robotics. I think who ever oversees this lab must be trying to create a new type of being. But again, I'm not 100 percent sure."
"Well, maybe Yoongi can figure it out, can I look at the photo's you took?"
"Yeah." I took out my phone and then remembered. "I also found a photo of a person I think is their target for these experiments. Once I took that photo I was caught, and they shot at me."
I scrolled and found the photo. I showed it to Jimin. His eyes widened, and he stood up so abruptly I jumped a little.
"What is it?!"
"We need to get to the Library! It's Yumi!"
