We finally made it back to the library. It had started to rain as we were running, and we were both completely soaked. Her hair was undone and dripping down.

"Are we safe here?" She asked me. I went to the emergency lockdown system and turned it on.

"No one can get in without my permission." I explained. I looked at her hands and saw that she somehow managed to bring her shopping bag with her this whole time.

She looked at it, following my gaze.

"Jimin bought it for me, I didn't want to leave it there..." She started to head towards my apartment.

"Weren't you going to tell me something? Before those men attacked us?" I stopped her.

"Yeah..." I noticed she was shivering then. I walked in front of her and she followed me into my apartment. I gave her a towel to dry up a little.

She sat on the end of my bed and sighed. "When you were telling me your history something you said triggered a memory. I remember the man in charge, the cyborg... he said I was the key to the future."

The way she phrased that sentence made me think of JK01 but it would be impossible.

"Do you... remember what he looks like?" I asked her.

"um... he's tall, has dark hair. He would be handsome, if he wasn't so terrifying." she was trying her best, but the description was too vague.

"Did he have two different eyes?"

"No, both of his eyes are blue."

I know she doesn't want me to do any tests on her, but it might be the only thing we can do to try to figure out why they want her dead.

As though she read my mind she responded "I-I know doing tests would help... but I'm scared."

"You don't trust me?"

"I do, I'm scared of what we'll find... what if there is something wrong with me?" That fear is a valid one. If I were in her shoes I would feel the same way.

"Right now, the only good things I know of is you, Jimin and this place..." She added quietly. The look on her face reminded me of that time when Hoseok caught me up on what I missed before I deep dived into the abyss of my mind. Before he...

The door bell rang.

"Get into some dry clothes I'll see who it is."

"Be careful." she said as I left the apartment.

I carefully went to the screen by the front doors and saw Jimin and Tae.

"Are you both alone?" I asked on the intercom.

"Yeah!"

I let them in and locked everything up again.

"Where's Yumi?" Jimin was aggressively whispering.

"In the apartment. Why? What happened?"

"Tae might have found the lab she escaped from." He explained to me what Tae had seen and sent me all the photos he took.

"JK01 died, it's impossible for him to be walking around experimenting on people again." I had a doubt in my mind even though I was saying this.

"Unless..."

"He found a way to do what he tried to do with you..." Tae finished my thought.

"We think Yumi might be his new subject to test on. Maybe kidnapped her somehow, drugged her to keep her from remembering anything." Jimin started throwing his ideas at me.

"Well we don't have any solid proof of any of this yet." I started to think. What can we do to know if he is still alive without getting into huge trouble? "Do you think RM would help us?" I looked at them.

They looked at each other.

"The mention of JK01 might make him completely shut down the idea. but..." I cut Jimin off.

"His assistant might help!"

Yumi entered the front hall wearing her new P.J.'s her hair messily dried.

"Did I miss something?" she froze when she saw Tae. "I saw you..." Her eyes were wide. "I mean not physically. But I saw a picture of you on a screen." she explained further.

"Me?" he pointed at himself.

"You're a vampire, right?"

He seemed shocked by her sentence.

"How could you know?"

"You were with some other faces all under the title infected."

He seemed troubled by this. This was all starting to feel like JK01's work, but I really didn't like it. They both compared notes so to speak. Seeing if she remembered anything else that he might not have seen. Eventually Tae shook her hand as they formally introduced each other. But after the handshake Tae seemed to be confused.

"What is it?" she asked.

"Y-your pulse... It's strange..."

She looked at her hand equally as puzzled.

"What do you mean?" I asked him. Being a vampire, he can notice things humans and cyborgs can't.

"Well her pulse seems too steady. There's no increase or decrease related to her emotions. It also just seems too strong to be normal." Yumi looked at me with tears threatening to fall.

"I guess you really do need to test on me..."
