I woke up feeling overheated.
I opened my eyes and saw Jimin had somehow tangled himself onto me while we were asleep.
I didn't move him. The warmth was nice. I looked at him, a feeling crept into my body.
Someday... I'll be a danger to him. Someday I'll be the cause of his pain.
Being what I am makes me feel like being with him is unfair, my path is doomed.
Someday they'll need to decide if I should be executed or imprisoned Like the other vampires.
Is there a point in trying to be with him if I'll have no choice but to say goodbye?
This thought hurt me, and I wanted to cry but I didn't want to wake him. He's always had a hard time sleeping. Sometimes his stress gets to him. The horrors he's been through come back to him when he tries to sleep. When he's most vulnerable...
I realised I was staring at his neck. The urge to drink his blood was starting to be overwhelming.
I could change him...
No...
I pushed him off me hoping that would wake him.
It did.
"What?!" He said annoyed with me. Any other time that would be cute to me, but I was too terrified of myself.
"It's happening again!" I got out of the bed while I still had control of myself. I ran for the door that led to the panic room we made for these moments.
Sometimes the virus I carry wants to change humans. Wants to spread. That's why so many purebloods changed humans often. It was an urge almost too hard to control.
I was about to open the door but Jimin's pulse was too alluring.
I calmly turned to him. He had already pressed the panic button he had installed for moments like this... But help won't be here fast enough.
"Tae... Please go into the room..." He looked terrified of me. I wanted to do as he asked. I wanted to get far away from him. A smile slowly formed on my face.
The monster is in full control now.
"Why shouldn't I just change you? We could live together forever..." I could see tears threatening to fall from his eyes. I could see him trying to figure out what he could do to stall me.
Fortunately for me... I'm stronger then he could ever be. Then any human could ever be.
I lunged at him and he was able to slip by me. I forgot how fast he could be.
He was running towards the door when I decided to do something I had sworn I'd never do to him.
"Stop!" I commanded him just like Crimson used to do to me and many others.
"Don't do this!" He yelled. Hoping to get to me. The monster was too strong.
All these years and I haven't changed one human?
What a waste. I could have an army by now. I could have the whole city in the palm of my hand.
He was shivering in place. Unable to run away. Fully under my control... completely terrified.
"Don't worry... You'll like your new life..." I was so close to him.
I moved his head so that his neck was stretched out for me.
My fangs were ready to pierce his skin. To finally release this venom I carry.
I was so focused on him that I didn't notice it.
The fist that was coming at me...
