Name Of The Blade & Meeting The Team

Author: Came up with the characters, i wanted to do a weapon that hadn't been done in RWBY for the team members so i spent time thinking about it...And well, you'll see here.

I felt something stabbing me in the cheek over and over so i opened my eyes and saw Eule who chirped at me. Then tried to go back to pecking me, but i sat up grabbed him and set him on my shoulder as i got up and looked next to me seeing a passed out Stein with Charles licking him "You can do that as much as you want Charles, but he isn't gonna wake up" I yawned out and saw Charles look at me before continuing to lick him.

I left Charles to wake up Stein as i headed to get changed into my combat gear, since today was the initiation into Beacon. Luckily i was in locker number 2 since i was the second one here, Stein being the first. I grabbed my combat gear and was about to shut my locker but i saw a blonde basically dragging a black and red haired girl, thankfully they both seem half asleep still, so i was able to get ready without being noticed. I headed out and saw Stein walk in after me.

I walked around realizing now that i have no idea where to go... They said we had to head to a cliff at the edge of the Emerald Forest. I started pacing around until a blonde girl walked over to me and spoke "Professor Ozpin would like to see you. Follow me" It was the girl that was with the headmaster at the auditorium, if i recall correctly her name is Glynda Goodwitch. We arrived at the headmaster's office and i saw the man who Goodwitch has called Ozpin. He stirred his coffee and gestured towards the seat in front of him for me to sit. Which i accepted and sat down as i saw Goodwitch leave, bringing my full attention to the white haired male in front of me.

He smiled and took a drink out of his mug before he spoke "Hello Mr. Y/N, its nice to meet you. Do you know the reason i requested to speak with you?" He asked as he opened a drawer on his desk and pulled out a sheet of paper. "This is the physical copy of your admission to this school. It states everything about you, including your training and some of your past. But that's not why we're here... We're here because you didn't put down a last name. Which concerned me, can i ask you why you refuse to put down a last name?"

I looked into his eyes, i knew the reason why i didn't put a last name. It was because i never had a last name. I don't know who my birth parents are. And even though Locke acted as my father for the short while we were together... He wasn't really my father, I looked down and bit my bottom lip a little. "You don't need to tell me, it was just a cause for concern is all. Their is no need to tell me, but i have another question for you, that dagger of yours. May i ask where you got it?" He asked leaning towards me now with a serious look in his eyes.

I looked at the dagger which brought a slight smile upon my face as i looked back towards him. "Its a... Present from a dear friend... She gave it to me before she left" I said and Ozpin leaned in a small bit more, i swear if he leaned in anymore he wouldn't be in his seat anymore. he squinted looking at my eyes before he sat back down fully and sighed before smiling genuinely. "I see, well this friend of yours. She must have cared about you deeply to give you something that special yes? And what did you say her name was again?"

Thinking about what he said, yes she did care about me when i look back on it. But why'd she stay with someone like Tai? She couldn't have honestly loved him could she? I sat thinking on it until i replayed what he said in my head. I didn't say her name at all. "I never said her name, but yes i think she cares about me. Or i hope she does" I said which made him smile. "I believe she did, well what would you like me to put down as your last name, it doesn't have to be your real name. Just something for the teachers and staff to call you for your time being here"

Now that i think about it, what should my last name be...Should i make my last name Summer in honor of her or Locke in honor of him...I groaned in annoyance before i looked to the headmaster again. "My full name is Y/N Locke Summer" He smiled as i saw him scribble it on my admission sheet then pull out a scroll and type something on it before looking back at me. "Very well, your full name is in the data base now Mr. Summer. Thank you for your cooperation, and that weapon of yours. Do you know its name?"

Does he know who Summer is? I looked to him with a face of pure worry. "Uhm... N-no i don't, i've always just called it Lost Light" I said while looking at it. I saw him get up and walk over to me and hold out his hand, i knew what he wanted. I took the sheath off my hip and handed him the dagger and sheath. "If you look inside the sheath you can see the weapons name etched into it" He said handing it back to me, i looked inside the sheath and saw the name Lunar Rose inside.

I made it to the initiation with the headmaster and stepped on a platform next to Stein who looked at me and sighed with relief "Didn't think you were gonna make it" I was about to respond when Eule flew off my shoulder and onto the headmaster as i was launched into the forest. Luckily i was flying fast cause my hood was blown down as i was flung into the sky. I thought to myself cats always land on there feet. Cats always land on there feet. Cats always land on there feet. Over and over as i was coming in for a landing before i thought, I'M NOT A CAT as i crashed into a pond. I got out and felt wet from the water that i was just in, i was going to sit still waiting to dry off until i saw an alligator grimm swim out of the water i was just in.

I turned around ready to fight it, but as it lunged at me a loud shot was heard and i saw the grimm had 2 holes in its head, i turned and saw a lady with blue hair and a side pony tail wave at me. "Sorry for stealing your kill, but you're the first person i ran into and i'd rather not let my partner fight alone." She said in a friendly manner, we sat in silent not knowing what to say to one another, until she spoke up. "This may not be a race but wanna make it one?" She said as she smiled at me. "Sure why not... Let's just run through the death forest" I retorted. "Great, let's get going then!" She said as she started running. Do i really have to babysit my partner i groaned.

We made it to the artifacts...which were just chess pieces, we saw a team right behind us instantly go for a black bishop piece. I look at all the pieces...What would Stein go for...I would like to be on a team with someone i know...I see the white king...Okay i know which one. "Hey partner how do you feel about the black king?" I asked which she ran over "You know me so well already! Dark, mysterious, and it sounds cool. Of course i want it" She grabbed it as we headed back.

The headmaster just finished giving everyone else their team names and teams and we were last. I'm guessing its because of the piece we chose. The headmaster gestured for us to to step forward and started speaking "Y/N Summer, Stein Marchen, Rei Hart, and Azure Meer. You have collected the king pieces, for your time here you will be known as team Y/N.S.A.R. Led by Y/N Summer. Congratulations Y/N"

I was a bit surprised. Was i chosen because he knew Summer? Or because he knows my past? And how much of it did he know? I was left with many questions and no answers. We had to go to our dorm which luckily was at the end of the hall, i saw Summer's daughter get in a room a decent while back. Meaning i didn't have a risk of seeing them. That brought some peace to my mind atleast. When we got in our room i saw a window that had a tree in front of it, i opened the window "Eule!" I shouted which startled Rei and Azure. But Stein was used to it as he ignored it, Rei and Azure were confused until they saw an owl fly through the window and onto my shoulder.

"Sorry about that, i guess neither of you expected that, this is Eule, he is my pet owl" I say as i pet Eule softly on the head. Stein's partner speaks up "As the headmaster said my names Azure Meer, its nice to meet you. But lets get unpacked i'm tired" He stated as if he were the leader. But i wasn't gonna bother with the who's leader who's not leader talk. So i decided to agree and get unpacked. By the time we were finished it was night and we all were ready to pass out. I chose the bed in the corner and jumped on it, ready to sleep from a stressful day of hiding and trying not to let the abusive sisters see me. Not that they'd remember me. I sighed as i had all these thoughts returning to me. I owe them nothing, if anyone owes anyone anything. They owe me!

My heart started racing as the memories came flooding back, i was interrupted by my partner "Hey Y/N you okay? Your staring at that wall pretty intently" I looked over to her and was about to respond but Stein spoke for me "He does that a lot...Just ignore it, he'll calm down soon enough" He yawned as he said this and pulled a blanket over his head so he could sleep. We all followed suit.
