The Blackness; it beckons me. It tells me to find my way back to reality. It tells me to stop, to think, but the crimson thrashes out and cries against the blackness.

I close my eyes and grimace.

"Hey, are you okay?" His voice was soft and gentle, it sent shivers down my spine.

"No," I managed to whisper, and he pulled me closer, kissing my forehead, and pulling me into a hug.

"Tell me what's wrong."

"It came back."

He flipped on top of me, his hands on both sides of my head, causing me to blush.

"What're you--" I murmured.

"Listen to me," He instructed. I nodded, my breath becoming short as one of his hands trailed up my side and cupped my cheek.

"I-I'm listening," I reassured him, my breath hitching as his lips ducked down to my ear to whisper.

"I love you."

It sent a shiver down my spine and to my toes zinged electricity in my fingertips, and made me open my eyes. It was the first time he'd said it; the first time it was mentioned in our relationship.

"I-I'm in love with you."

"I love you too, but how is this going to help with anyth—"

I was muffled as his lips pressed to mine, and my heart leapt out of my chest as I kissed back, confused as to how this was going to help with anything, still.

But soon enough, my mind was off of The Blackness, and on him.
