There is much trouble in Paradise

Chapter 6

"Just help me get up the stairs." Sean said. "It doesn't even hurt that bad."

"As you wish, dear." Valerie said as Doug helped Sean go upstairs.

"Take care!" Shane said.

"Thank you! For helping him." Valerie approached Shane.

"I did only what's morally normal." Shane said. "Have a nice date."

"Oh...he's not...we...he... it's a friendly visit." Valerie said as Shane was leaving. Shane only smiled in response then went his way home.

The breeze felt chilling. Shane was walking only in his shirt because he gave his jacket to Sean.

*honk*

"Shane Powell, you're under arrest for passing the curfew!" Robert said lowering his car window.

"You prick!" Shane responded. "Where you come from?"

"Hop in if you go home!" Said Robert as Shane got into the passenger seat.

"I went to the headquarters." Robert explained "I go to work from time to time. What about you? Visited miss Vidal?"

Shane explained everything.

"Wow. The new local hero. Doug must be so jealous!" Robert laughed.

"As if! They were having a date. Well... Valerie said 'friendly meeting' "

"See? I told you she's not into him! She may like you, man! Go to her tomorrow. Act like you check on Sean."

"Good for me I'm also a good actor!" Shane chuckled.

"What else can you do?" Robert asked

"Ride horses, Train dogs, garden, drift with cars, drift with motors, skate, run, I can even dance a little, play the guitar...and drums and piano, I'm a great kisser, i-"

"OK Mr can-do-anything, I've got it!" Robert said winking. "There you are! Payment cash or card?"

"Payment in my love towards you!" Shane replied as he got down. He and Robert really started to like each other.

"Accepted! See you tomorrow!" Robert said.

"Thanks a lot, bud!" Shane answered as the car left. Shane entered his house and went to sleep.

The next day he listened to Robert and went to Marquise to 'check on Sean'.

"Hey!" Valerie greeted him.

"Oh hi! I was looking for you!" He immediately answered.

"Oh really?" She said blushing faintly.

"Yeah... I actually wanted to know how's your son."

"Oh... how kind of you to care!"

"Of course! I didn't save him only to forget about him after, right?" Shane answered in his sweet manner.

"Well... he still had a bit of pain this morning but it was mainly alright."

"I'm glad. And you? How have you been?"

"Oh, me? Work."

"Well... don't you stay with your son?"

"No. He said he's better on his own. He can rest better or something. Bryce is at school and I told Sean to call me if he needs anything."

"I see. Well... in that case... any chance you're free tonight?" Shane winked.

"Actually... I think I will leave Sean alone as requested. Do you have any ideas?" Valerie responded smiling.

"I heard the beach is beautiful at night. I had yet the chance to see it."

"I did. It's indeed beautiful. I'll accompany you if you care."

"Well... the sun sets around nine. What do you think? 8:00 pm?"

"I'll be ready."

"I'll pick you from the front."

"Thanks a lot."

"See you! Bye!" Shane said as he left.

"I'm having a date with blondie!" Said Shane over the phone with Robert.

"Amazing! Good luck!"
