Chapter 40

Before going straight home, I ask our driver if he could drop by to an ice cream store and so he did.

Bumaba akong may bakas ng luha sa magkabilang pisngi at pumila na para makapag order.

Nakita kong may braso na biglang nagaabot ng kulay asul na panyo sa harap ko.

Nagtatakang tiningala ko kung sino iyon.

"Dry your tears miss. Hindi bagay sayo ang umiiyak." She genuinely smile at me and motioned me to get her handkerchief.

I was kinda hesistant at first pero inabot ko ang panyo nya't ipinunas sa muka ko.

"Sit there, wait for me. I'll order for you. Anong flavor?" Tinuro nya ang table na may nakapatong na LV bag at saka inutusan akong antayin sya doon.

Nagtataka man ay sa tingin ko gusto nya lang tulungan akong pagaanin ang loob kaya nya ito ginagawa.

I smiled weakly at her kindness. "Double dutch please." I told her the flavor that I want.

Tumango lamang sya at itinulak na ako papunta sa table.

After a few minutes, she showed up holding two ice creams with the same flavor that I told her. Iniabot nya sakin ang isa sabay ngumiti at naupo sa upuan na katapat ko.

Ngayon ako nagkaroon ng pagkakataon na titigan sya. She  look so pretty and I know for sure that she's older than me. She obviously has a foreign blood. Her skin is as white as porcelain, her hair is a bit shorter than mine and its straight too. Her nose seems like perfectly molded into place and her lips are thin and pinkish.

"Hi. Sorry for  dragging you. But I just want you to feel you're not alone. I know I'm just a stranger to you so its okay for me if you don't want to speak but whatever your going through must be really hard kaya ka umiiyak na pumunta dito." She broke the awkward silence between us and reach for my hand.

I smiled at her again. I can feel she's kind and her heart is pure. "Thank you." I whispered.

"You eat ice cream to make you feel better?" She asks while staring at me. Her eyes seem very familiar. Pakiramdam ko'y nakita ko na iyon noon.

"Yeah. Uhm- who don't feel better on ice cream right?" Sinubukan kong pasiglahin ang tono ng boses ko pero alam kong masyadong halata ang lumbay na nararamdaman ko.

"Well, we're different. I eat ice cream whenever I am happy." Natatawa nyang sabi sabay sandok sa ice cream na kinakain nya. Hindi ako kumibo at nagfocus nalang sa pagkain ng ice cream din.

"Bakit hindi ka okay? I'm just wondering why a beautiful creature like you is crying so hard." Her on flick eyebrows creased and her eyes are looking at me questioningly.

"Long story." Nahihiya akong napayuko.

"Make it short? Sorry I have no intention to interfere. You can just ignore my question if you don't want to answer." Maingat nya akong tinignan. Awkward smile is plastered on her face.

"Anong mararamdaman mo kapag nalaman mo na lahat ng ipinapakita at pinaparamdam sayo ay kasinungalingan lang pala?"  I stared at the ice cream at pinaglaruan ang kutsarang andon habang inaantay syang magsalita.

"Masasaktan. Syempre it is trust that's been damage." She exclaimed.

I look at her. I saw how her expression change. She looks at me with so much concern. Her eyes are soft and is showing so much care and gentleness.

"I fell. I fell deep. Nahulog ako, buong puso ko naangkin na nya. Nahulog ako sa lahat ng ipinapakita, ipinaparamdam at ginagawa nya. Which is worst." Pagak akong napatawa at pagkatapos ay pinalis ang luhang tumulo nanaman.
