After making wonderful memories and sharing great moments with Anthony's family for the Christmas holidays, he decided it was about time to head back to Chicago. Our life was waiting for us there, the house was ready and we actually had things to do now that we were expecting a kid. Now was the time to sit down and start figuring out our lives.

And when we got tired of that, a few of the guys were in town and ready to celebrate the New Years. The parties around here never cease to amaze me and I'm sure that we're going to have a great time tonight. And I'm also sure it's one of the last times I can go out looking like this before I started to show so I was sure as hell going to enjoy it.

I squeeze myself into a little red dress and zip myself up. I curl my long light brown hair and apply a little bit of makeup. I let out a long sigh as I look myself over in the mirror.

"You look incredible" Anthony gasps as he appears behind me.

"That's your opinion" I smile.

"It's a fact" he argues. "You are very nice to look at, there's nothing wrong with admitting that" he insists.

"There is if I don't see what you see" I defend.

"How can you see anything besides a incredible woman" he asks and I advert my eyes to the ground.

"Because when I look in the mirror I see the scars, the stories behind them. That's all I can see" I defend.

"That's not what I see" he claims. "Not at all. I see a strong woman who not only stands up for herself but the things she loves the most. I see someone who is about to become an amazing mother and who makes me happier than anything else in my life. But I don't see how you can't see that you're so beautiful, inside and out" he admits.

"I don't think I ever can" I admit.

"That's okay, because I have no problem showing it to you" he smiles and I look up. He smiles down at me and I couldn't help but smile back.

Eventually we head over to the bar and meet up with some of our friends. We catch up on the few months we have spent away and eventually it's like we were never apart. Of course I had just seen Farrah not too long ago and I texted Aliya almost every day so it wasn't too hard to get reacquainted.

"Did you see that Kris and Jess got engaged right after Christmas" Farrah asks me and I gasp.

"What! No" I admit. "I can't believe Jess didn't tell me. I just got off the phone with her too" I pout.

"Probably because that news was everywhere and she probably assumed you knew" she claims.

"I don't have social media or anything. I barley know how to text" I defend.

"Well it's all over the Internet" Aliya admits.

"I have some choice words with her when she gets back in town" I mumble.

"It's not like she knows everything that's happened to you too" Farrah defends.

"But that is huge" I argue. "When it comes to me it's different. There's just some things everyone is better off not knowing."

"Have you told her every good thing that has happened to you since you last saw her" Aliya counters.

"Well there is this one thing..." I trail off.

"Well I don't see a ring on your finger so you must be pregnant" Farrah jokes. I freeze in my spot as they start to laugh, but once they see my stone cold face they immediately stop.

"Oh my god" Aliya squeals. "You're pregnant" she yells and I couldn't help but smile. I was still really excited even if I had no clue as what to expect.

"I am" I admit and they both start to make some weird noises. I wish I could blame it on the alcohol but they had barley had any.

"Oh that's so exciting" Farrah insists.

"It's exciting, terrifying, many many different things" I explain.

"Well how far along are you" Aliya wonders.

"Two months, almost three" I nod.

"My god you're so small. I would have never known you were pregnant" she admits.

"If you saw me in the mornings you would" I scoff.

"Do you get morning sickness" Farrah questions.

"I get morning, afternoon and night sickness. And they have pills for that but I don't want that interfering with the pregnancy so I just let it go" I explain.

"I get it. A lot of women don't trust those drugs and I don't blame them" Aliya nods.

"So what are you guys doing? I mean I don't think that you and Anthony would have any problem raising a kid, but you guys weren't planning for one were you" Farrah questions.

"Nope. I don't know exactly when I conceived but I'm going to go with when we were on our trip to Mexico" I insist.

"Oh that's so romantic. How did you find out" Aliya wonders.

"I missed my period in December so I took about ten different pregnancy tests, and all of them were positive" I explain.

"Oh, you were not playing around" she jokes and I laugh.

"I was shocked so I wanted to make sure it wasn't my mind playing a sick joke on me, it does that a lot. So I just kept taking them and low and behold I was actually pregnant. I told Anthony I was finishing up Christmas shopping then went to a small faterility place in Florida to see what was going on and they confirmed I was pregnant, almost two months at the time" I explain.

"How did you tell Anthony" Aliya asks with a huge smile on her face.

"I woke up early Christmas Eve and started a painting. I know he gets up early around the holidays because he gets so excited so I got up at like 3 am. I made a painting of him and I holding a little baby blanket with a pasafire and diapers and other baby things with the words "sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in our hearts". He joined me at about 8 am and I showed him the painting" I smile.

"Did he cry" Farrah asks.

"A little, yeah" I giggle.

"Awww that's so sweet. I'm so happy for you guys" she insists.

"Thanks" I smile back.

Finally it reaches midnight and Anthony grabs me. He spins me around and quickly presses his lips to mine making sure he doesn't miss a second. As we break apart he smiles down at me as his slightly red lips were pulled tight.

"Happy New Years" he says.

"Happy New Years" I repeat.
