It's been five months since I impregnated my girlfriend and I finally got to accompany her to one of her doctors appointments. I've been wanting to come but I always had something to do or she didn't want me there when they were talking about the birth giving process. She wasn't totally wrong, the thought of that stuff freaks me out, but I still want to be there for her. I didn't want her to feel like she has to go through this by herself, I can't really do much to help out, but I wanted to do all that I can to be a part of such such important times in our lives. And I've been dying to hear the heartbeat and maybe find out the gender of our baby too.

I sit in the hospital room with Clara laying down on the table. Her shirt had been pulled up to show off her growing baby belly and the doctor puts the little ultrasound thing into the pile of gel that was sitting on her stomach. The woman rubs the little thing all over her belly until the gel was smoothed out. Eventually she finds the baby and there's a little heart beat that comes out of the machine right next to me. The picture of our little baby shows up and I smile so big. The steady but quick sound of a heartbeat rings through my head and I see a tear form in my eyes.

I feel the tear drop and Clara drops my hand she was holding to wipe away the tear. I smile down at her as she cups my cheek.

"You okay there big guy" she teases and I laugh.

"I'm amazing, actually" I assure her.

"Do you guys want to find out the gender now or wait until later" the doctor questions.

"Now" we say and the same time and the doctor laughs.

"Okay.

It looks like you two are proud parents of a baby... girl" she announces.

It feels like the world stops as we sit in that doctors room. I could hear my heart beating almost as fast as the babies as the sounds ring in my ear. The image of our little girl still up on the screen was being tattooed into my brain.

"A girl" Clara whispers and I turn to her. She was smiling as big as ever staring at the picture of our baby. I know she didn't want to admit that she wanted a girl because even if it was a boy she would still love it. But she really wanted a girl. I knew she did. I did too.

"Congratulations you two" the doctor smiles. "Everything looks good for both you and the baby and I expect to see you next month for a check up" she explains as she cleans Clara's stomach up of the gel.

"Of course. Thank you for everything" Clara replies.

We get pictures of our baby girl then were sent on our way. We didn't have anything to do until the game later on today so we return to our house to pass the time. After a while I couldn't find Clara anywhere, but eventually I find her standing in the middle of the baby room. She was looking around smiling big as ever.

"Whatcha doing" I ask as she turns to me. I walk over to her and pull her into my embrace.

"Imagining raising a little girl in this very room" she admits.

"Have you thought of a name yet" I wonder as I walk inside to join her in her day dreams.

"I don't even know where to start" she admits.

"I have a idea" I claim and she raises her eyebrow at me.

"Really" she asks.

"Yeah" I admit. I've been thinking about names a lot recently, but I've been stuck on the same one for a while.

"Well I would love to hear it" she claims.

"I don't know. It's kind of cheesy" I insist.

"I like cheesy" she says.

"I kinda liked the name Daisy Claire" I say and she smiles up at me. "I liked Daisy because she's our little seed that were going to nurture into this beautiful flower. Plus it was your moms favorite one and you have it tattooed on you. Then Claire because that's your nickname and it sounds good with the first name.

I don't know. It's kinda predictable but-"

"It's perfect" she cuts me off.

"You really think so" I ask.

"I love everything about it. I couldn't imagine there being a name better for her out there" she claims and I involuntarily smile.

"So what do we do now" I wonder.

"We should probably start finding stuff to put in here" she admits. The only thing in here done was the walls.

"What where you thinking" I question.

"Well a crib, obviously. Then a dresser and a changing table. A play place and a place to feed her" she lists off.

"Can't we just put all of that on the list for the baby shower" I ask.

"I would rather ask for car seats and pasafires and diapers and stuff that isn't so permanent" she insists.

"Jeeze, for a little baby she sure does need a lot" I notice.

"She's dependent. She doesn't need a whole lot, just the same things over and over again, but what she will need she will need it from us" she explains.

"Maybe we should get a nanny" I mention.

"I like the idea but I'm more than okay staying home and watching her. It's a maternal type of thing. I love following you around and watching you play on different fields. I love traveling and gathering inspiration from a bunch of different places. But I want to stay home with the baby, I want her to know I'll be there for her and when she's strong enough I can bring her with to watch you play" she explains.

"I just don't want you to feel like you're trapped in another house with me" I say softly.

"I won't. I promise I won't. But I don't want to be a stay at home mom. I'll still be working, I can still paint and do everything I usually do, but I get to do them as a mother" she smiles.

"Are you excited that it's a girl" I ask.

"I wouldn't have cared either way" she claims.

"But..." I trail off.

"But I'm really excited it's a girl. And now that she has a name and this is really happening I'm so excited. I get chills just thinking about the day we can finally meet our baby. I'm still scared, but I can't wait for our little Daisy to get here and I can hold her" she insists.

"Me either. I hope she looks just like you" I insist.

"I hope she has your curly hair" she smirks as she runs her fingers through it.

"I hope you know how to take care of that hair, because I obviously don't" I laugh.

"You're going to be that Dad that does her hair and don't act like you won't be" she accuses.

"Only if she gets my nails to match hers" I tease and she giggles.

"We're having a girl" she randomly says and I smile big.

"We're having a girl."
