Here are step by step instructions on how to save a life.

Step one, find a beautiful girl in need. Help her realize she doesn't need you there, not as much as she wants you there.

It's easy to look at the girl you found unconscious as dependent on you, for if it weren't for you she could have been left there to die. But once she wakes up help her realize that your just a part of the solution. That the answers she was looking for were inside of her this whole time, even if she just needed someone to help her find it. But remind her that she only wants you, she doesn't need you.

Step Two, never leave her side. Make sure you talk her through everything and never let her shut you out.

She's been through a lot, and opening up isn't easy. Especially to a girl you've welcomed to a place she's never been before, even if that place is way better than where she was at. It can be a lot for her, so don't overload her. Talking is so important in any relationship, especially the one where no one really knows what to say or how to say it. Always open up for her as she has done for you too. If she seems distant pull her back in. If she shuts down turn her back on. Don't let the darkness of her mind consume her, give her ways to talk even if it isn't with her mouth. Maybe it's writing, or if you're really lucky it's beautiful paintings. Anything to make sure she has a outlet and that you are there to support her when she's ready to release the things she has hidden for years.

Step Three, help her with anything she needs. She won't ask for much, but it won't be too hard to find what she really wants if you listen with your heart.

For a person who has had so much taken from her, things she will never get back, always give her things she implies she likes. If you're in a position to help nothing should stop you from doing so. She won't tell you she likes things, for if she does than she becomes afraid that she will lose that too, just as she has lost so many other things. So watch her, watch for things she gravitates for, things that make her eyes light up. She will never tell you what she needs, but she doesn't need to. Everything you need to know will be told to you even if it doesn't come from her directly.

Step Four, keep her from her troubled past and fight for her every step of the way. There's some things that are inevitable, but never, and I mean never, give up on her.

You can't run from your past forever, eventually everything catches up to you whether you like it or not. Don't fight the inevitable, you're just wasting your time. Spend your time taking her mind off of the dark stuff. Don't forget it but don't spend all your time thinking about what happened, make new memories she can hold on to. She'll really appreciate that. Keeping her from her troubled past isn't erasing everything, it's moving her forwards and not backwards. That's the way to protect her. And make sure that you will never let anything bad happen to her, at least nothing that you're in control of. You can't fight and win every time, but let her know that you're never going to give up on her. Remind her that you don't want her gone just as much as she doesn't want to leave. You can't protect her from everything, but try your hardest to protect her and make sure she knows you are.

Step five, fall hopelessly in love along the way. Don't deny the feelings you have, they're there for a reason.

You won't know when or how or why it happened, but you'll fall in love. Don't worry, she will too. It's what happens when your world quickly starts to revolve around her. You start to notice the little things like how her eyes sparkle when she looks at you or how you find random silly excuses to touch her. To hold her close. Then soon enough you're laying in bed at night thinking of all the different reason she is the reason your world goes round. You won't see it coming, and then you'll never be able to forget it. Although love is intangible, you still have to hold it in your hands. Hold it tight and never let go. Don't deny yourself such a great feeling. Always give a hundred percent even if you're not sure she feels the same way. Because if it was meant to be, and it is, then you will find a way to show her just how much she means to you.

And last but not least, the final step.
Step Six, realize that she's saved you just as much as you've saved her.

Although these are steps on how to save the life of your eventual soul mate, realize that she was saving your life too. She wasn't saving you from a bad relationship or a toxic life. She was saving you from a fate where you never find love. Where the passion never does go past baseball. You never asked for anything from her. Never wanted her to pay her part of the rent or even for food. You didn't want to go to the media and brag about how you found a girl and you saved her life. That was never a part of your plan and it never will be. All you wanted was to see her do her best, live the best life she could and to be a big part of it. And you were. You did all of that and more and you saved her life not because you kept her breathing, but because you let her live. You let her show her potential and reach it just as quickly. You saved her from one life by giving her another one. One that she can be proud of. And although she will never admit it, she saved your life too.
