Clara

It was a picture perfect evening. It was about 70 degrees and the sand was cool so it didn't burn our feet as we stood on it. The sun was just about to set on this beautiful day, but it was waiting for us to get this wedding well under way. All the bridesmaids and groomsmen were up at the front of the little set up. The guys standing behind Anthony and the girls just across from them holding their flowers to their hearts. A few of our friends and family were sitting in white wooden chairs that circled the alter I was going to be standing under not too long from now. Little Daisy was the flower girl riding in a stroller along side Naya as she tossed daisies down the isle.

Soon enough the stage was set for a beautiful wedding and all it was missing was its bride. So I inhale a deep breath before letting it out slowly. I close my eyes before opening them again. Once I did I see Anthony's Dad there in front of me with a yellow tie on. He looked super handsome with his hair done and all shaven.

He reaches his hand out with his palm up and I smile big. I wanted to ask him to walk me down the isle but with everything going on it had slipped my mind. But since he was a great man and knew me so well, he showed up anyway.

"May I have the honor of walking you down the isle" he asks and I could barley speak.

"Yes" I squeak out. I place my hand in his open one and he smiles big as he looks me up and down.

"You are so beautiful" he claims and I start to blush.

"Thanks" I reply softly.

"No, thank you. Thank you for making my son the happiest man in the world. I know it was never easy for you two, but now look at you guys. Getting married on a beach in Cabo in front of your closest friends and in front of your amazing daughter. You guys have come a long way, and I'm happy that at the end of it I'm getting a gorgeous and incredible daughter" he explains.

"Ohhh I'm not supposed to cry yet" I sniffle and he laughs. He wipes my tear away as he smiles down at me.

"I didn't want you to cry. I just want you to know how loved you are" he insists.

"I do" I assure him.

He pulls my vail over my face and adjusts it so it looked even. He smiles at me causing me to smile back.

"Are you ready" he asks.

"I'm ready."

He takes me to the little set up we had and I stand where the flower pedals started. I stand there as everyone rises to their feet. Everything looked good, I think. I didn't really notice all of that once I saw Anthony.

As soon as his eyes met mine it all faded out. It was just him and I like it was most times. Even if we were in public or watching a game, he is all I see unless Daisy is around.

I walk down the isle hanging on to Johns arm the whole way. He hands me off to his son before joining his wife on the side. I stand across from Anthony and I couldn't get the smile off my face. He was smiling too, but he was also crying.

"Don't do this" I warn.

"I'm sorry. You're just so incredibly beautiful" he claims.

I wipe away the tear that had fallen before cupping his cheek. He rests his face in my hand as I hold him tight.

"I love you" he whispers.

"I love you too."

The service was short and sweet. We were on a bit of the time crunch with the sunset in the background so we get through at the usual stuff quickly. We both say our vows but before we put the rings on each other we had a few words to say first, starting with Anthony.

"You know, you were the first person to realize that I love to watch the sun set. I never told anyone about my fetish and no one ever asked so no one ever brought it up. But ever since I was a kid I loved watching the sunset. I was always on a baseball field somewhere and every chance I got I would watch the sun disappear for a while.

I used to think they were the most beautiful things in the world. That nothing can match it's beauty, it's brilliance, it's wonder. Then you came into my life and I watched you like a sunset. I was in awe of your beautiful colors and magnificent sights you showed me. You were my forever sun set that never went away.

Until you were away and my days were dark. So many clouds and so many storms took over the sky above me. I was no longer living in color for it was always grey. I didn't look forward to watching the sun set because I knew it would rise the next day but I wouldn't have anyone to admire it with me.

Then you can back and I realized that it's not the sun sets that I loved. I watched plenty of sun sets in my life that didn't have any relation to you because I didn't know you quite yet. But I loved that no matter what happens, there's something at the end that can remind you of how beautiful life can be. And you're my reminder, you are my sun set that I've been looking for my whole life.

And now I get to marry you here, under this incredible sun set after what has been a insane journey this past year and a half. But I couldn't be happier for the sun to set on this day, to represent me going from man to husband" he says.

"Awww" I coo and he laughs at me.

"Alright. Your turn" he insists.

"If I'm your sunset then you're my stars. The light in the darkest of times.

And like a star, if it wasn't for my darkness I could never find you. For you where there when I needed you most. Not when things were sunny and bright, but for when things were dark and weary. But you were always there to guide me in the right direction, to show me the way.

You were a constant reminder that there is good in this world. And it's not just one star, there's thousands of them out there. Sometimes they're hard to see, it's easy to be blinded by so many things whether it be the past or fear of the future. But for some reason you were the star that was shining through any distraction thrown at me.

And when the sun rises and the darkness is gone you're still up there. Even though I can't see you you're still up there. Waiting for a time to come where you can shine your brightest once again. And you always did, there was never a time where it was complete dark. Where everything was all black. I could always find you, even in the darkest of nights, even through all that crap I was put through I always knew it was you who was shining down on me.

And even though the sun will rise again after this night where you and I become one, I'm okay with that. Because by the next time the sun rises I will be Clara Rizzo."

We slip the rings on each other and the priest pronounced us man and wife. Anthony takes my vail and moves it back. He grabs my face and quickly presses his lips to mine.

"I have wanted to do that since I first saw you today" he whispers on my lips.

"I guess we have the rest of our lives together to make up for it" I say and he smirks.

"I am perfectly fine with that."
